When you arrive at a place where children radiate happiness, grandparents smile, where the mortal world merges with the creativity of the products, and where elves welcome you, then the magic of the environment will embrace well-being.
Today I share my first posts on Daily Blog! A very interesting community where I intend to add my anecdotes.
The sunny afternoon in Havana invited us to a family outing, escaping, for a few hours, those power outages that bother Cubans so much in their daily lives.
So we decided to go to Pa Cuba, a festival that started in the middle of summer and is still open. Located in Pabexpo, in the municipality of Playa, it brings together in one place a large number of attractions that will delight not only children but anyone, regardless of age.
Upon arrival, the influx of people was noticeable, coming and going like bees in a hive. We paid the entrance fee, and, thirsty as we were, we refreshed our palates with some ice-cold beers.
Once you pass the periphery, different activities unfold before your eyes. School supplies, household items, and handcrafted products made of wood, clay, glass, and metal are on sale.
Cuando llegas a un sitio, donde los niños reflejan felicidad, los abuelos sonríen, donde el mundo de los mortales se funde con la creatividad de los productos, y donde hay duendes que te dan la bienvenida, entonces la magia del entorno abrazará al bienestar.
¡Hoy regalo mis primeras letras en Daily Blog! Una comunidad bien interesante en la que me propongo sumar mis anécdotas.
La tarde soleada en La Habana, invitaba a una salida en familia, escapando, por unas horas, de esos apagones de luz que tanto molestan a los cubanos en su día a día.
Así que decidimos ir a “Pa Cuba”, un festival que inició en pleno verano y se mantiene abierto. Ubicado en Pabexpo, municipio de Playa, y que reúne en un mismo sitio, una gran cantidad de atracciones que hacen disfrutar no solo a niños, sino a cualquier persona sin importar su edad.
Al llegar, se notaba la afluencia de personas que entraban y salían como abejas en una colmena. Hicimos el pago correspondiente para su entrada, y con la sed que teníamos, refrescamos el paladar con unas cervezas bien frías.
Una vez que pasas la periferia, hay distintas sesiones que se abren ante tus ojos. Venta de productos escolares, útiles para el hogar, y productos artesanales hechos de madera, barro, cristal y de metal.
Others offer a culinary delight: from snacks, sweets, and ice cream to places that represent the identity of well-known restaurants in the city.
Then follow the entertainment areas, where children enjoy jumping on trampolines. There are board and ball games, a skating and bicycle riding area, and another area where small electric cars can be driven by a driver and a companion.
Otros ofrecen delicias culinarias: desde aperitivos, dulces y helados hasta lugares que representan la identidad de restaurantes reconocidos de la ciudad.
A continuación, se encuentran las zonas de ocio, donde los niños disfrutan saltando en camas elásticas. Hay juegos de mesa y de pelota, una zona para patinar y montar en bicicleta, y otra donde se pueden conducir pequeños coches eléctricos con conductor y acompañante.
The more adventurous and adrenaline-loving can climb a few meters high, safely.
The other section is on the outskirts, where you can enjoy music, theater projects, live bands, and youth films, which are scheduled at times that can extend into the evening.
Los más aventureros y amantes de la adrenalina pueden escalar algunos metros de altura con seguridad.
La otra sección está en las afueras, donde se puede disfrutar de música, proyectos teatrales, bandas en vivo y películas juveniles, programadas en horarios que pueden extenderse hasta la noche.
My wife delighted in buying several small clay coffee cups. I bought a genuine leather wallet, as the one I used was well worn.
My children opted for leather belts, and their girlfriends for silver earrings.
I love seeing the creativity that enterprising Cubans bring to their businesses. Every day, antique objects catch people's attention and become more appreciated. You might find a table or a sink supported by an iron base from Singer sewing machines, or ornaments made from vinyl records, lamps made from bottles, etc.
Fine woodworking is especially appreciated in household items, where you find everything from furniture made from bamboo to woods that show the imprint of their grain and designs that captivate the most discerning senses.
Mi esposa se dio gusto comprando diversas tacitas de café hechas de barro. Yo compré una billetera de cuero genuino, ya que la que usé estaba bastante desgastada.
Mis hijos optaron por cinturones de cuero y sus novias por aretes de plata.
Me encanta ver la creatividad que los cubanos emprendedores aportan a sus negocios. Cada día, los objetos antiguos llaman la atención y se vuelven más apreciados. Se puede encontrar una mesa o un lavabo con base de hierro de máquinas de coser Singer, o adornos hechos con discos de vinilo, lámparas de botellas, etc.
La ebanistería fina es especialmente apreciada en los artículos para el hogar, donde se encuentra de todo, desde muebles de bambú hasta maderas que muestran la huella de su veta y diseños que cautivan los sentidos más exigentes.
Audiovisual entertainment areas are widely enjoyed by young people and adults, where games with various types of consoles and virtual reality headsets take up the time of those who pay to enjoy something they can't always afford at home.
Las zonas de ocio audiovisual son ampliamente disfrutadas por jóvenes y adultos, donde los juegos con diversos tipos de consolas y cascos de realidad virtual ocupan el tiempo de quienes pagan por disfrutar de algo que no siempre pueden permitirse en casa.
One of the most eye-catching attractions was the space dedicated to the sale of goblins, elves, and elementals from the four kingdoms. Women, especially, have longed to have some of these small mythological beings in their rooms, who have been the epicenters of great stories written and later brought to the screen.
Una de las atracciones más llamativas era el espacio dedicado a la venta de duendes, elfos y elementales de los cuatro reinos. Las mujeres, en particular, anhelaban tener en sus habitaciones a algunos de estos pequeños seres mitológicos, que han sido el epicentro de grandes historias escritas y posteriormente llevadas al cine.
Time passes in this place without realizing it, due to the visual exaltation produced by the wide variety of product offerings, where the promotions and marketing of the different businesses compete to capture your attention and touch your emotions, inciting a purchase-sale transaction.
After wandering so hard to miss any point of interest, and where the music blends with the surrounding colors and voices, your feet appreciate a break.
We did just that; we sat in a less crowded spot to hydrate our bodies with sodas, canned beer, and nuts to snack on.
In the end, I wanted to take a photo, between the frame and the greenery of the artificial vegetation, inviting that contrast to those present to take with them the pleasant memory of a special day.
El tiempo en este lugar pasa sin darte cuenta, por la exaltación visual que produce, la gran variedad de ofertas de productos, donde la promoción y el marketing de los distintos negocios, compiten en robar las miradas y tocar las emociones, para incitar a una transacción de compra venta.
De tanto deambular para no perder ningún punto de interés, y donde la música se amalgama con los colores del entorno y las voces, los pies agradecen tomar un descanso.
Eso hicimos, nos sentamos en un lugar menos concurrido, para hidratar nuestros cuerpos con refrescos, cervezas en lata, y frutos secos para picar.
Al final, quise tomarme una foto, entre el marco y el verdor de una vegetación artificial, invitando ese contraste, a que los presentes se lleven consigo el plácido recuerdo de un día especial.
When we got home, the electricity was back on, and after a refreshing bath, I dedicated myself to writing these words, which you can read today.
