Hi friends of the internet!
After a two week break from social media, I am feeling a new inspiration. For the most part I enjoy sharing and channeling my creativity into writing and videos. But, after taking a few weeks to focus on other things I feel that, as far as sharing goes, less is more. And that is the philosophy I want to bring into this new year.

Just before the holiday season truly kicked off I found myself a new online job. This is a big accomplishment for me! I have been applying to jobs and trying to make my various online side hussies profitable ever since quiting my customer service job two years ago, to varying degrees of success.
So, I began my vacations feeling a confidence boost as I jumped on a bus to the other side of the mountains to meet my family for the holidays.

Normally I live a secluded life here on the mountains. I am lucky to live in a house that is quite hidden from the chaos of the modern world. So, heading straight into the thick of society was a bit anxiety inducing. Luckily I only spent one night in the big city while waiting for the arrival of my sister, mom, and dad. Early the next morning we headed to a unique town on the opposite side of the mountains where I live.

While I am sure my sister and dad woulf have prefered more time in the city, my mom and I wanted to explore the trails & towns of the mountians. We hiked, walked the rivers, and did a bit of dining in quaint towns I had heard so much about.

Another main event was, of course, Christmas. I gifted everyone some ecological beauty products as well as colorful clothes for the ladies (and puzzles & notebooks for my dad).

Then, we headed to my side of the mountains. Many hours on windy roads, two wrong turns, and two stops for snacks and supplies. Funnily enough my mom desired to rent a cabin right in my neighborhood.
We spent a few more days exploring the creeks and trails of the foothills. New Year's Eve was spent with my boyfriend too and we all celebrated with some beers and a homemade dinner.
((a batch of orders prepared for my Etsy shop))
Here in this sleepy town almost everything was closed on the 31st and 1st. So, we chilled out at the cabin, cooking, talking, and crafting.
Sounds like holidays well spent. Wishing you the very best for 2026!✨
It was!! So many hikes. Thanks. And a happy 2026 to you as well 🌠
I can feel the regeneration vibe in this post... Im so glad you recharged with family and friends. What's the new job? I need an online gig but they're impossible to find. Less IS more... I'm going to give that a go this year too x
I am now a English language tutor, online. So I am giving one on one video classes to people who are learning English, mostly just conversations. It is through a platform called Preply. Maybe you could too!
I have thought about it! Just if I do one day of CRT its $420 AUD so it's hard not to lean to that. Even though I'm not working at moment and hate going into school! I have a issue with my hip that needs sorting so can't do anything at moment anyway. Good luck with this job!
Is CRT like substitute teaching? That sounds like a good gig, as far as pay goes. As a tutor I am making $10 USD an hour, because I have no background in teaching. So as a real teacher you could ask for much more.
I hope you are able to find a comfortable solution for you!!
Yes it's exactly the same, casual relief teaching. Remember it's relative to how much money is worth in your situation! Thats 2 to 3 full days really to pay the bills here and maybe save a bit, and you can only do it half the year, and some schools are hell on earth. so, swings and roundabouts!
Sounds like it is worthy of your time! Hopefully you can find a healing solution for your hip.
