That is why we have to go over and over again the word of God and to apply the word of God. Some may go to a church building and then fornicate, but our New Testament tells us to not fornicate. Why are there many churches in the world today? We know there were 7 churches in Asia and each of those churches had something about them. So now we have many churches, some believe this way and some believe that way, like the Pharisees and the Sadducees. Some started out ok, but then the satanic entered them. Remember Paul warning a church day and night as it is written, For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Acts 20:29. So the church got infiltrated by grievous wolves, along with there bent teachings.
How do we know which is the church that Jesus built. We must know that we are the church. A church not made with hands. As it is written, Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, Acts 7:48. So we cannot look to a building, we must look within our hearts, where the laws of God are written.
Is it true that Jesus Christ has his own doctrine/teaching? Jesus has his own doctrine, teaching according to the will of God. Remember Jesus saying, If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15. It is written again, For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. Matthew 12:50.
Does that mean there are doctrines and teachings or teachings of men? Yes, there are. As it is written, with Jesus speaking, But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. Matthew 15:9.

From what I was made to understand from the Bible, I understand that the 7 churches in Asia were the church (people) Christ has called out but in different locations, yes they are different people but they were are learning from the same teaching of Christ and his apostles. That means that, Christ judged the church according to how well they obeyed his teachings. In that same Acts 20:28, we were made to understand that Christ purchased the church with his own blood and yes I do agree that the church is not the building but the people. So if that is the case, what do you think we should do, is it right to go to just anywhere that reads the Bible to worship?

So people do read the Bible, but do they do the Bible? Do they meditate on the scripture? I like that scripture, But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. Psalm 1:2. I think some of the churches might have let Jezebel in. So we don't want to just go anywhere unless we are lead to go there. I think the churches in people's houses will come back. Isn't that how they did it in the churches during the times of Acts? Remember Paul as he wrote, The churches in the province of Asia send you greetings. Aquila and Prisca greet you warmly in the Lord, and so does the church that meets at their house. 1 Corinthians 16:19. Maybe the church that meet in a house will come back.
So about the heart, you see you know in your heart that the scriptures are right, they were written in our hearts. It was the Word that lighted everyman that came into the world. As it is written, Was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. John 1:9. We were lighted up in the womb by Jesus. Jesus knew us in the womb. When we read the scriptures, our hearts bare witness to those scriptures.
So we do have to know the difference from the teachings of God and the teachings of man. Best to keep reading the Bible over and over again. There is a scripture, That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, Ephesians 5:26. By only studying the scriptures, you will tell, if there is another teaching that is not scripture, but if one does not know the scripture, then others will speak of things not in the scriptures, one might follow such a one that does not speak scripturally.

Yes, them that do the will of God. Let's look at what Jesus said again, For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. Matthew 12:50. Do you see how powerful that is? Jesus just told us that them that do the will of his Father is his family. This is why I say or write to people, repent, accept Jesus and do the will of the Father. The will of the Father is in the scriptures.
So we know right from wrong. Now think, if a man rapes a woman in front of you, then it is up to you to help that woman that is screaming for help. You know in your heart that you must help, plus there is scripture, Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. Isaiah 1:17. If you think you are not strong enough, then say this scripture, Blessed the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, my fingers to fight: Psalm 144:1. Yes the book of Enoch. You remember Enoch? How he walked with God. This was before the great flood of Noah's time. As it is written, And Enoch walked with God: and he not; for God took him. Genesis 5:24. The writings of Enoch had to go with Noah on the ark. That is how we have his writing today.
Now Jesus took Enoch to be scripture. Remember how the Sadducees wanted to know about the 7 brothers that all married a woman, at different times. One would marry her then died and another brother would marry her until they all married her and died and last of all the woman died also. They wanted to know whose wife she would be in the resurrection since they all had her. As it is written, Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. Matthew 22:29-30.

So the Sadducees did not know the scripture written in Enoch, and it was err to them.

In the book of Ephesians 4:4, the Bible says, there is one body, also, 1 Corinthians 12:18 KJV But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. According to these two scriptures, it seems like there is more to serving God outside doing his will. In Acts 2:47, the Bible says and the lord added daily to the church, such as should be saved. Act 2:42 says, and the continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and in prayers and in prayers. And remember in Matthew 16:18, the Bible says, thou art Peter and upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hades shall not prevail against it.
From all these scriptures and more, I have come to realize that there are called out people, the church and they do things together, not in isolation and God continues to add to them such that will be saved and that is only possible when they follow the command of Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:18, when Jesus commanded them to go into the world and preach the gospel, that whosoever believes and is baptized shall be saved but he that believes not shall be condemned. Reading through all of these scriptures, I strongly believe that there is a church that does the will of God and in the end of time, Christ is going to deliver her to the father without spot or wrinkles and that was why Christ through John the Revelator wrote to the seven churches in Asia telling them to repent from their wrong doings and also encouraged those that are doing well to continue.
It is very obvious like you said that the church is not a place but the people and Christ is married to the church because he purchased the church with his blood Acts 20:28 and also in Ephesians 5:23-27 you will understand that Christ likened himself to a husband of one wife and how he gave his life for his bride. The bride here is also the church (The body Colossians 1:18). All these scriptures I have quoted all points to the truth that Christ built his church and that only those who hear his gospel, believe his gospel, repent of their sins, confess their faith in Jesus Christ as the son of God and is Baptized shall be saved.
