Les describo en esta publicación un viaje corto que hice hace poco a una de las Islas que conforman el Estado Nueva Esparta.

El Estado Nueva Esparta está conformado por tres Islas: Margarita, Coche y Cubagua, es el único estado insular de Venezuela.

La Isla más grande es Margarita, donde soy nativa. De aquí fuimos un grupo de amigas, a la Isla de Coche, que tiene 55 km2 y su capital se llama San Pedro de Coche.
The largest island is Margarita, where I am a native. From here we went with a group of friends to Coche Island, which has 55 km2 and its capital is called San Pedro de Coche.
Para llegar a la Isla, es necesario partir de un lugar llamado la Isleta. Aquí existen unas lanchas más o menos grandes. La gente viaja constantemente para abastecerse de lo que no encuentran en Coche. Viajé con un grupo de amigas.
To get to the island, it is necessary to start from a place called La Isleta. Here there are some more or less big boats. People travel constantly to stock up on what they can't find in Coche. I traveled with a group of friends.
Llegamos al muelle donde nos esperaba la lancha Jubilo Azul.
We arrived at the dock where the Jubilo Azul boat was waiting for us.
Ya dentro de la lancha escogimos un lugar cerca de la ventana. El viaje de ida fue muy calmado.
Once inside the boat, we chose a spot near the window. The outbound trip was very calm.
Esta Isla tiene un paisaje árido y escasean la vegetación, sin embargo tiene sus caseríos, una entrada que te da la Bienvenida. Y gente amable que espera a los visitantes con una buena sonrisa.
This island has an arid landscape and scarce vegetation, however it has its hamlets, an entrance that welcomes you. And friendly people who await visitors with a good smile.
Para transportarnos muchas veces tuvimos que viajar en motos, pues el problema de la gasolina es crítico en esta isla.
For transportation we often had to travel by motorcycle, as the problem of gasoline is critical on this island.
Nos alojamos en una posada muy sencilla pero cómoda y económica, donde podíamos pasar la noche.
We stayed in a very simple but comfortable and inexpensive inn where we could spend the night.
Después de alojarnos, fuimos a comer y fue un estupendo regalo la forma en que te reciben con una linda mesa, entre amigos y una sabrosa comida de restaurant.
After our stay, we went for lunch and it was a great treat the way they welcome you with a nice table, among friends and a tasty restaurant meal.
Aquí abunda el pescado fresco, así que había que aprovechar estos productos locales.
Fresh fish is plentiful here, so we had to take advantage of these local products.
También era tiempo de camarones y calamares. Una delicia.
It was also time for shrimp and squid. A delight.
Por la tarde, recorrimos la playa que está frente a la posada, se llama playa la Punta tiene arenas muy blanca y el agua estaba muy calmada y tibia.
In the afternoon, we walked along the beach in front of the lodge, it is called ptiene very white sand and the water was very calm and warm.
Fueron unos días muy merecidos, donde experimentas quietud y conoces nuevos lugares. Cuando puedas haz un viaje a esta isla.
It was a well deserved few days, where you experience quietness and get to know new places. When you can make a trip to this island.
De regreso, nos tocó abordar la misma lancha, y en el recorrido vimos pescadores en su faena. Trabajando con todo para llevar el sustento a sus familias.
On the way back, we boarded the same boat, and along the way we saw fishermen at work. Working hard to provide for their families.
Fue un recorrido hermoso. Le doy gracias a Dios por tan bella oportunidad después de tanto tiempo.
It was a beautiful tour. I thank God for such a beautiful opportunity after such a long time.
