I hear you. I actually tell my kids about the hundreds of years other peoples had to wait for their pleas to be heard. In hindsight, that might give people some perspective, but when people are going through the wait and many die in the waiting unjustly subjected by a minority, it is hard to understand whatever insight a higher power is holding from us or which our very nature just prevents us from understanding.
I'm not sure to what extent our enslavement is our fault. True, in our case a majority once voted for a wolf in sheep clothes, but then that majority started to vote against everything that wolf representes. Only problem: the wolf and its faithful followers had weapons/guns; the majority was unarmed.
Years of protests and stolen elections later, the majority was scattered by tear gas, bullets, hunger and fear. I don't think it is just or reasonable to carry the blame for things beyond our power. That's where/when a higher power's intervention is more than welcome. Yet, we also have the issues of timing and that insight is again beyond our understanding. There is little solace in the idea that all our people's suffering is part of a plan, that our sense of urgency is different from His, and worse yet that this is somehow our fault for not defeating/converting the armed unscrupulous wolves.
If God is trying to teach a lesson through punishment, very little of it will be learned by the new generation of oppressed. They will either grow in despair/disbelief or join the forces they see as favored by life. That's what I see in this corner of the world. Hope things work better elsewhere.
I can't argue with anything you said! It's really a complex situation, and yes, platitudes are not always helpful when one is in the midst of a tough time.
