I know a lot has happened in 2024, hardships, breakupships😂, situationships, relationship and a lot of marriageships .
I think this year was really meant to oppress the singles but they don't know that we stand strong against all odds .
We actually thought that all this was closed for the year only to realize that it was only beginning 😩. Likeeeee… .. how could a whole year be just for weddings and us the lonely birds watch them can't help but cry😂😂. Yet no way only reminding ourselves that we are Single pringle.. Shà shege been dey dis year but it's well. We made it through.

Finally oo after being grateful that Christmas break is approaching, oh Christmas break is finally here a one time where the nursing students can trade their stethoscope for Santa hats and their scrub for sweatpant. But let's be real Christmas break is just a myth perpetuated by our sadistic lecturers and instructors. They will say “oh you'll have lot if time to relax and recharge and saying this assigning to everyone ten pages of presentations to be submitted and 500-nursing practice questions .
And I'll be wondering is this really a break Orr its a class work being done at home😩.
Sometimes I can't even cry cos I'll always remember dat its what I signed for with my hands😂.
And don't even get me started on the "relaxation" part. Because what's more relaxing than being stuck at home with your family, listening to your aunt's rendition of "Jingle Bell Rock" for the 12th time, while trying to study for the NCLEX and eat an entire pizza by yourself? Like … . It's just so frustrating.

But hey, at least we get to enjoy the festive atmosphere, right? The twinkling lights, the festive decorations, the obligatory ugly sweater party… and Christmas invitations for dinner….it's all just so... merry. Said no nursing student ever.
And then there's the regular question from your relatives: "So, how's nursing school going?" Um, it's going great, thanks for asking. I'm just peachy, like mhenn how was it supposed to be? Who loves being constantly -deprived, stressed out, and covered in mysterious rashes from who-knows-what patient? And someone is asking me hope u enjoy school like girl… ? How😂?

But in all seriousness, Christmas break is a time for nursing students to relax, reflect, and remember why we're putting ourselves through this torture in the first place. It's a time to stay with loved ones, prioritize self-care, and to maybe, just maybe, get a few hours of sleep without being woken up by a 3am page from the hospital. It time to also remember that in as much as we are studying and being stressed out there's a reward for everything we are going through. And lastly, without God all these can't happen. So remember to renew your relationship with him so as he would guide your path rightly. Don't forget to stay safe.

So, to all my fellow nursing students out there, I say: let's make the most of this break. watch movies, and maybe even get a few hours of sleep. Because when we get back to school, it's going to be a whole new level of crazy, annoying, fun and frustrating days.
