Coffee talks | How August has been

Life has felt a little different lately. Ever since August, when my favorite officemate resigned and relocated to another city, I’ve been adjusting to a new kind of routine. We used to be inseparable, spending more than eight hours a day together at the office, sharing laughs, conversations, and countless after-work dinners. Suddenly, those moments turned into only the occasional video call, and I felt the shift right away.

At first, I was worried about how I’d handle it. It’s not easy losing someone you consider both a colleague and a close friend. But with time, I’ve slowly learned to be more independent at work. Without the comfort of always having someone by my side, I realized that I don’t really need to go with the flow all the time. I started focusing more on myself, my tasks, and what I could gain from each workday. Surprisingly, the fear of missing out just faded away. My main purpose for showing up at the office became clearer: to work, to grow, and to take each day as an opportunity to learn something new.

Another change I noticed is in my lifestyle outside of work. Back then, my officemate and I would always eat out after office hours—those dinners were such fun memories, filled with laughter and stories I’ll always treasure. Sure, it came with extra expenses and calories, but I wouldn’t trade those moments for anything. Now, I don’t eat out as often anymore, which has actually saved me a good amount of money. It’s funny how these small changes add up and make you see life differently.

These days, I keep things simple after work. I either head to the gym to stay active or go straight home to rest. It’s a new rhythm, quieter and more intentional. While I still miss having my officemate around, I’m learning to embrace this new chapter—finding balance between work, wellness, and personal growth.

That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!

Sending some love and light

With love, Jane

It was good that you are not into meal with friends that way you save money but do make sure you eat healthy food. Instant noodles are not healthy and is not good for your health.

I will. Thank you:)

Sorry for losing your office friend to transfer @jane911x , I could tell how close you guys are because you had to change your routine to meet the reality of being by yourself during lunch break, hope you find someone you are very comfortable with like him or her again
