Maayong buntag sa inyohang tanan! Good morning everyone! As of today, January 21, I woke up early in the morning because my Dad and I are going to his hometown, a place were my dad grew up when he was still a little kid. During this day, I, too, was really excited because I can only go to my dad’s hometown once a year. This day wasn’t just a normal day because in Washington, Escalate City, they are celebrating the birth of Santonio, and all of the brothers and sisters and even their childhood friends of my dad are also coming. So it was like gathering. But of course, on my side, I only tag a long time because my Unncle Bobing is always giving money to his nephew and niece. 🤣 I really love money more than anyone knows… hahahahaha charr.

Early in the morning, at exactly 3:30 am, I already woke up to pack my things so that we could already go on our way. So we left home at exactly 3:42 am and we arrived at Washington, Escalante City, at exactly 5:46 am. That means it takes two hours from Bacolod to Escalante City, but it is just based on my estimation, after all, there aren't a lot of car’s on the way, so we can run as fast as we want to. While we were on our way, it was really cold that makes me shiver like I'm in a middle of an iceberg. Then, as we approached Silay City, we didn’t know that there would be rain, 😭 so the coldness that I am feeling has become more intense. We were really wet because of that rain, after all we where just riding a motorcycle. Although, thankfully, we have arrived in our destination safe and sound, thanks to God.

As we have arrived at the old house of my dad, I approached his brothers and sisters and do a Mano Po that we Filipinos commonly do as a sign of respect to the older one’s.

Before I forget, we are here in Washington, Escalate City, because of Fiesta Senior, I have heard that they celebrate the birth Sr. Santo Niño. Although, I don’t know how it happened, on the other hand, everyone is kissing the Sr. Santo Niño and pray for good health, they also tap the Sr. Santo Niño at their body, somewhere they are in pain because they believe that it can heal a person, or some called it spiritual healing. During this fiesta senior, there are also a lot of foods and I took a picture of it so that I could show them to you guys.

The elders started to pray at 10 am and I'm starting to get bored because I've been waiting for them like an hour, so because I couldn't do a thing. Out of boredom, I took a picture of my self and walking back and fort around the house. I even took a video so I could post it on facebook🤣.

On the afternoon, I was really happy because I really recieved the money. I was like a leach who sits besides his uncle so that they could notice you, haha, so I got 300 pesos🤑.

At the end, I came back home to Bacolod with a smile on my face.

I thought it was in Cebu when I heard about it. So Escalante has that too.

Yes there is, but this is just a small event that the Washington held every January in Escalante.
