Hola, Queridos Hivers!
Hoy les traigo el resumen de la primera semana de mi décimo ciclo de tratamiento! (Décimo y último)
El lunes, cómo ya es costumbre, mi papá fue de madrugada al banco de sangre a marcar mi turno de pasar a la consulta previa al tratamiento, en la cual evaluan todos mis valores y me dan la autorización de comenzar mi tratamiento, y logró conseguir el número 6, un número muy bueno, gracias a Dios!
Así que a las 7am mi mamá y yo fuimos al laboratorio para hacerme la hematología control que necesitan los médicos, y de allí nos fuimos al banco de sangre a esperar mi turno.
Normalmente empiezan a llamar a las 9am; mientras, las enfermeras van tomando la presión arterial, el peso y la altura de todos los pacientes anotados en consulta.
Mi mamá y yo pasamos el rato de espera resolviendo crucigramas, fue muy divertido, hasta me tocó pasar, y después de ser evaluada y obtener mi autorización para comenzar, me fui al area de tratamiento.
Le entregamos los medicamentos e insumos médicos a las enfermeras, y después de un rato, me llamaron, y recibí mi tratamiento literalmente en un abrir y cerrar de ojos, ya que al segundo después de que me colocaron la vía, caí dormida!
Me despertaron ya cuando iba terminando para que me fuera incorporando, y para colocarme un ondasetron.
Pase ese lunes exitosamente sin ningún malestar grave.
El martes también recibí mi tratamiento con normalidad, pero el miércoles di un pequeño paseo antes de ir a recibir mi tratamiento.
Fui al conservatorio a recibir instrucciones para el próximo regreso a clases! Les daré más detalles en otro post.
El jueves fue un día súper ajetreado en el banco de sangre! Había tanta gente que tuve que recibir tratamiento en otra mini sala, que está fuera de los consultorios de los doctores, y solo habilitan cuando se acaba el espacio en la otra.
Me gusta porque no hace tanto frío, y además pasé un rato agradable, porque una compañera se sentó muy cerca de mi para compartir el paral donde nos colocan el tratamiento, y pasamos todo el rato conversando. Fue cool!
Ese jueves si tuve unos malestares molestos. Un dolor de cabeza fastidioso, que raramente se me quitó después de tomarme una taza de café con leche y hacer algo de tarea.
El viernes estuvo tranquilo como los demás días, lleno de alivio porque ya terminaba la semana y tendría el fin de semana para descansar un poco y recuperar fuerzas para la próxima.
Estoy muy emocionada ya que la semana que viene será mi última semana con el Trióxido de Arsénico! Después de eso me faltarían 3 inyecciones para culminar mi tratamiento oficialmente, pero ya este viernes me causa una emoción inmensa!!!!

Hello, dear Hivers!
Today I'm bringing you the summary of the first week of my tenth treatment cycle! (Tenth and final)
On Monday, as usual, my dad went to the blood bank early in the morning to schedule my appointment for the pre-treatment consultation, where they evaluate all my blood values and give me authorization to begin my treatment. He managed to get the number 6, a very good number, thank God!
So at 7 a.m. my mom and I went to the lab to get the hematology checkup the doctors need, and from there we went to the blood bank to wait for my turn.
They normally start calling at 9 a.m. Meanwhile, the nurses are taking the blood pressure, weight, and height of all the patients listed for the appointment.
My mom and I passed the waiting time by solving crossword puzzles. It was a lot of fun, until it was my turn to go in. After being evaluated and getting my authorization to begin, I went to the treatment area.
We handed the medications and medical supplies to the nurses, and after a while, they called me, and I received my treatment literally in the blink of an eye, as the second after they placed it, I fell asleep!
They woke me up as I was finishing so I could sit up and get an ondansetron.
I made it through that Monday successfully without any major discomfort.
On Tuesday, I also received my treatment normally, but on Wednesday, I took a short walk before going to my treatment.
I went to the conservatory to receive instructions for the upcoming return to classes! I'll give you more details in another post.
Thursday was a super busy day at the blood bank! There were so many people that I had to receive treatment in another mini-room, which is outside the doctors' offices, and they only open it when space runs out in the other one.
I like it because it's not so cold, and I also had a pleasant time, because a colleague sat very close to me to share the pillar where we received the treatment, and we spent the whole time talking. It was great!
That Thursday, I did have some annoying discomfort. A nagging headache, which rarely went away after having a cup of coffee with milk and doing some homework.
Friday was calm like the other days, full of relief because the week was ending and I would have the weekend to rest a little and regain strength for the next one.
I'm very excited because next week will be my last week with Arsenic Trioxide! After that, I would have three more injections to officially finish my treatment, but already this Friday is incredibly exciting for me!!!!
