I wish you a productive and joyful week, one that starts off on the right foot and stays that way with positive energy. Mine started off actively as usual, with that drive that characterizes me every time I leave home early to fulfill my work routine. My initial destination was the Unik hotel, where I usually carry out my duties with dedication and commitment. However, on the way, I received an unexpected call from the quality manager of the Sunsol chain. He asked me to change my itinerary and head to the Ecoland hotel, which this week required priority attention due to a technical situation that needed to be resolved urgently.
Without thinking twice, I changed course and headed for Ecoland, taking Simplicio Rodríguez Avenue.

La mía arrancó activa como de costumbre, con ese impulso que me caracteriza cada vez que salgo temprano de casa para cumplir con mi rutina laboral. Mi destino inicial era el hotel Unik, donde suelo realizar mis labores con dedicación y compromiso. Sin embargo, en el trayecto, recibí una llamada inesperada del gerente de calidad de la cadena Sunsol. Me pidió que modificara mi itinerario y me dirigiera al hotel Ecoland, que esta semana requería atención prioritaria por una situación técnica que debía resolverse con urgencia.
Sin pensarlo mucho, cambié el rumbo y me dirigí hacia Ecoland, tomando la avenida Simplicio Rodríguez.
When I arrived at the hotel, I was greeted warmly and with the urgency that the situation warranted. They were using water from the Australian tank, as the main tank had to be chlorinated and its values measured accurately. The reason for this was an irregularity detected in one of the membranes of the desalination plant, which made it essential to take immediate corrective measures to ensure water quality.
Al llegar al hotel, me recibieron con cordialidad y con la urgencia que ameritaba el caso. Estaban utilizando el agua del tanque australiano, ya que el tanque principal debía ser clorado y sus valores medidos con precisión. La razón era una irregularidad detectada en una de las membranas de la planta desalinizadora, lo que hacía indispensable tomar medidas correctivas inmediatas para garantizar la calidad del agua.
My husband accompanied me on this journey, as we had to carry twenty liters of hypochlorite to the top of the tank, a task that requires physical effort and coordination. Our dear Caren also joined us in the task. She is a charismatic woman who has a gift for making any job, no matter how complex, feel light and bearable. Her positive attitude and way of seeing things always inspire me. We agree that efficiency and quick solutions are key in our work, and that brings us together.
Mi esposo me acompañó en esta jornada, ya que había que subir veinte litros de hipoclorito hasta lo alto del tanque, una tarea que requiere esfuerzo físico y coordinación. También se sumó a la labor nuestra querida Caren, una mujer carismática que tiene el don de hacer que cualquier trabajo, por más complejo que sea, se sienta liviano y llevadero. Su actitud positiva y su manera de ver las cosas siempre me inspiran. Coincidimos en que la eficiencia y la solución rápida son claves en nuestro trabajo, y eso nos une.
With the help of the digital scale, we took the necessary measurements to determine the water parameters. The results indicated that certain values needed to be adjusted, so we proceeded to apply the hypochlorite carefully and precisely. When we finished, all the parameters were in perfect order, which gave us great satisfaction. Knowing that we did our job well and contributed to the well-being of the hotel guests and staff fills us with pride.
Con la ayuda de la báscula digital, realizamos las mediciones necesarias para determinar los parámetros del agua. Los resultados indicaron que era necesario ajustar ciertos valores, así que procedimos a aplicar el hipoclorito con cuidado y precisión. Al finalizar, todos los parámetros quedaron en perfecto orden, lo que nos dio una gran satisfacción. Saber que hicimos bien nuestro trabajo y que contribuimos al bienestar de los huéspedes y del personal del hotel nos llena de orgullo.
On our way back, we passed by La Playa lagoon, a place that has always charmed me with its birds and tranquility. However, this time I was surprised to see how the drought had affected the landscape. It hadn't rained for over a month, and some areas of the lagoon showed clear signs of deterioration. I was saddened to think of the birds that live there and how climate change is leaving visible marks on our environment. Hopefully, the much-needed rain will come soon.
Al emprender el camino de regreso, pasamos cerca de la laguna “La Playa”, un lugar que siempre me ha parecido encantador por la presencia de aves y la tranquilidad que transmite. Sin embargo, esta vez me sorprendió ver cómo la sequía había afectado el paisaje. Llevaba más de un mes sin llover, y algunas zonas de la laguna mostraban signos evidentes de deterioro. Me entristeció pensar en las aves que habitan allí y en cómo el cambio climático está dejando huellas visibles en nuestro entorno. Ojalá pronto llegue la lluvia que tanto se necesita.
We continued our journey along the Portachuelo road, enjoying the scenery. Finally, we arrived home with the satisfaction of having fulfilled our duty and with the hope that the rest of the week would be just as productive.
