Happy Sunday, everyone! I wish you a beautiful day, full of peace, rest, and moments that recharge your energy for a good start. My Sunday will undoubtedly be a little calmer, because yesterday, Saturday, was quite the opposite: an unexpectedly hectic day, but also one full of lessons and opportunities for growth.
I'll tell you that, although I had planned a quiet Saturday, one of those days when you just relax or simply enjoy being at home, fate had other plans for me. It all started with a cloudy morning, one of those days when the sky looks like it's been painted with brushstrokes of gray and beautiful clouds. Despite the weather, we decided to go out and run some necessary errands: fill up the gas tank to be ready for the week and stop by Catalano to buy some materials we needed for work.

Mi domingo, sin dudas, será un poco más calmado, porque ayer sábado fue todo lo contrario; un día inesperadamente agitado, pero también lleno de aprendizajes y oportunidades para crecer.
Les cuento que, aunque tenía planeado un sábado tranquilo, de esos en los que uno se dedica a descansar, o simplemente disfrutar del hogar, el destino tenía otros planes para mí. Todo comenzó con una mañana nublada, de esas en las que el cielo parece pintado con pinceladas de gris y hermosas nubes. A pesar del clima, decidimos salir a hacer algunas diligencias necesarias; cargar combustible para estar listos para la semana y pasar por Catalano a comprar algunos materiales que necesitábamos para el trabajo.
The atmosphere, although gray, had its charm. The clouds formed whimsical shapes in the sky, as if an invisible artist were playing with them. It was a curious and relaxing sight that accompanied us throughout the journey. But just as we were at the gas station, we received a call that would change the course of the day.
El ambiente, aunque gris, tenía su encanto. Las nubes formaban figuras caprichosas en el cielo, como si un artista invisible estuviera jugando con ellas. Era un espectáculo curioso y relajante, que nos acompañó durante el trayecto. Pero justo cuando estábamos en la estación de servicio, recibimos una llamada que cambiaría el rumbo del día.
It was from Sunsol Isla Caribe. One of the filters at the water treatment plant had imploded again, and the situation was complete chaos. No one knew what to do, and the concern was evident. Without thinking twice, we got organized and headed to the site. That's our job: to be available, provide solutions, and help when it's most needed. There aren't always emergencies, but when they happen, we're there.
Upon arrival, we quickly identified the problem. Fortunately, it was not a failure at the bottling plant, but rather human error. There was an unexpected power outage, and when service was restored, one of the pumps did not shut off. When it turned back on, the pressure caused one of the filters to implode. It was an unfortunate accident, but with a clear cause and, luckily, a solution.
Era desde Sunsol Isla Caribe. Uno de los filtros de la planta potabilizadora había sido nuevamente implosionado, y la situación era un completo caos. Nadie sabía qué hacer, y la preocupación era evidente. Sin pensarlo dos veces, nos organizamos y salimos rumbo al lugar. Ese es nuestro trabajo; estar disponibles, brindar soluciones y ayudar cuando más se necesita. No siempre hay emergencias, pero cuando ocurren, ahí estamos.
Al llegar, rápidamente identificamos el problema. Afortunadamente, no se trataba de una falla en la planta embotelladora, sino de un error humano. Hubo un corte de luz inesperado y, al restablecerse el servicio, no se apagó una de las bombas. Al encenderse de nuevo, la presión provocó la implosión de uno de los filtros. Un accidente desafortunado, pero con una causa clara y, por suerte, con solución.
We took the damaged filter away to replace a compromised part and, while we were at it, reinforce its external structure. The idea was to prevent something like this from happening again. The damage had already been done, but the important thing now was to focus on solving the problem, stay calm, and trust that everything would turn out okay.
Later, we had a meeting with the technical team to coordinate the steps to be taken. It was decided to temporarily reduce the filtration volume while the repair was being carried out. With everyone calmer and with a clear plan, we said goodbye and headed to the warehouse to leave the damaged filter.
Nos llevamos el filtro dañado para cambiar una pieza que se había comprometido y, de paso, reforzar su estructura externa. La idea es prevenir que algo así vuelva a suceder. El daño ya estaba hecho, pero lo importante ahora era enfocarnos en resolver, mantener la calma y confiar en que todo saldría bien.
Más tarde, tuvimos una reunión con el equipo técnico para coordinar los pasos a seguir. Se decidió reducir el volumen de filtrado temporalmente, mientras se realiza la reparación. Con todos más tranquilos y con un plan claro, nos despedimos y nos dirigimos al depósito para dejar el filtro que se encontraba dañado.
Before returning home, we stopped by Extreme, a store located on 31 de Julio Avenue, where we found some high-quality resin that we needed to reinforce the filter. The resin we had in storage wasn't enough, and we knew we would find just what we were looking for there.
Antes de regresar a casa, pasamos por “Extreme”, un local ubicado en la avenida 31 de Julio, donde conseguimos una resina de excelente calidad que necesitaremos para reforzar el filtro. La que teníamos en el depósito no era suficiente, y sabíamos que allí encontraríamos justo lo que buscábamos.
With the materials in hand, we finally returned home. It was late, but we sat down to plan Sunday's work. Although we thought this weekend would be quiet, like the week had been, unexpected events happen without warning, and you have to be ready to face them with a positive attitude.
Con los materiales en mano, finalmente volvimos a casa. Ya era tarde, pero nos sentamos a planificar el trabajo del domingo. Aunque pensábamos que este fin de semana sería tranquilo, como lo fue la semana, los imprevistos no avisan, y hay que estar listos para afrontarlos con buena actitud.
That was our Saturday: a day of comings and goings, of solving problems, of making quick decisions, and of working as a team. It wasn't the rest we had hoped for, but it was a productive day full of purpose.
