RE: On Dumpers, Dying Ideals, and the Cost of Being Wrong

First of all, if was rich, I'd put 100K in Hive, but I'd do it to support weak accounts that engage week after week despite poor returns. I'd delegate to someone like @gabmr who writes fantastic stuff but doesn't get the recognition he deserves. There are so many.

So many smart people here care about the platform. You have equations for users who hold (K.E.). What about an equation for users who support low value accounts rather than chasing after big numbers? What about users who plug away week after week and engage meaningfully with other users?

I don't think I'd want my 100K going into the reward pool (as I understand it), because then the high-power accounts would just pull value out of that disproportionately. I'd want it to benefit those low-value, high-worth (content/engagement) accounts that can be the backbone of Hive.

Why are people on Facebook? They don't get money. Why are they on Twitter? No money. It's the engagement, the dynamic interaction.

I'll take a @deirdyweirdy, an @owasco any day over one of those high value accounts. These people add value. I look forward to reading what they say, how they respond. There are so many. I could make a list for you. As I write the list grows. These 'users' give me a reason to come back.

Maybe I'm spouting hogwash. But it doesn't make sense that Facebook and Twitter attract people without money, and we are losing people. I know there are dedicated, smart people who help to keep this place going (yes, you're one of them...thank you). Keep searching. Keep talking. Please, don't give up.

As usual, you're one of the kindest, most reasonable souls on Hive! Your proposal seems legit, and achievable in a mid or long-term, I think. Hope that in a non so distant future Hive can be an ecosystem where users can benefit from just in proportion of the content and support they give🙂

Hope you've had a good weekend, @agmoore.

Thank you Dear @gabmr,

I hope you have a wonderful week :)

Hear hear!!

Those are the accounts I am here for. I love the idea of having a score for those of us who support the small accounts and search for good content among those.

A popular whale can post a shot or two of his pretty girlfriend and make more on that one post than a small account can make toiling away daily, producing excellent content, for a month, even with regular curangel, qurator, and curie support. When earning is the object of being here, then content suffers and pandering becomes the name of the game.

Thank you so much for the compliment! I am in such great company here on Hive!
