I believe that we can design our lives. My own career in podcasting is proof enough for me to know that is true. So today when I was frustrated by the clutter I have allowed to stack up in my studio, I realized I had designed that too!
What?!
Yep, as I stood there frustrated that my studio was filled with boxes and guitars and chairs and computers and so many other things I had a very sharp epiphany. Just like my career path was by my design, so too was this clutter.
Sigh.
That was a painful reality, but in a way liberating. Because I then knew that there was no need to be frustrated by the clutter. What I needed to do was to make a decision on what I wanted in my studio and design my life to it.
- Decide.
- Take Action.
- Viola!
Well, maybe not "viola!" at this moment. After all, I'll need to take the action first. But I have decided and that is what will cause the action to happen. So even though nothing has changed in my box and guitar and computer filled studio, I feel so much better right now.
Funny how mindset works like that.

I picked this GIF because I now want a curtain like that. 😂
Yeah, this is exactly how we can decide to design our lives from what it used to be to what we want it or what it supposed to be.
This is very inspiring....!
Exactly! It's funny how I could clearly see the design in my career, but was totally oblivious to the fact I was also designing the clutter in my life. But now that I can see how the designing works both ways, it's been a big mindset difference. Just this morning a stack of empty boxes was taken to the recycle facility. What a difference! Simple actions like this will add up. Soon enough I will have a studio space that is what I want instead of what I don't want.
Thanks for commenting. Cheers!
Thank you, every success starts small, but what always proves a point is the continuation and the intentionality. Keep trying, good night.
Hehe you are so correct. We decide to let the state of somewhere be. I learnt that years ago, if you don't like something, then do something about it, otherwise wheest, stop yer moaning!
Exactly! That was part of the big awareness. There was no one I could be frustrated with except myself. And if I designed the best parts of my life that must also mean I designed the not so best parts of my life.
Naturally I only wanted to take credit for the good stuff and not so much the less than good stuff. But at the end of the day the whole things is designed by me.
