I watched the talk, read the subtitles, and appreciated the concern expressed at Hive regarding the future, marketing, transparency, and user acquisition and retention. I thought their arguments were sound and I sensed interest. Perhaps they weren't very decisive, but it's good that they're starting to take action. These meetings are valuable, and it's good to have a forward-looking perspective.
As for marketing, it's a significant challenge because, as you mentioned, many of us at Hive are unaware of the excellent resources available, and that speaks volumes. I believe we need to start from within, and it's just as difficult as external marketing. But we're working on it, and I think that with determination and good guidance, we'll succeed.

Thank you for this ! With my business head on, I agree we need full transparency. By understanding what we spend, we can work out what metrics we need to understand it's cost effectiveness.
But I'm starting to think that a possible answer is to develop tools using the Hive blockchain which are for non-Hivers and non-Hive businesses. Rather than looking at the efforts to directly recruit new users, I wonder if the answer is to have tools out there which solve real-world problems. They'd bring revenue into the ecosystem which in turn increases market cap and can replace DHF spending, in turn hopefully increasing the price of Hive. Then for normal world users, the rest of the Hive ecosystem and the social aspects would be there in the background if they are interested, but would be a light touch for the curious rather than pushed hard.
