I have seen myself engage in a lot of activities from a young age. I am adventurous and fun loving as well as money loving.
As a result, I do things either for the fun and adventure or for the money in it.
As we all know, money is a major motivation for a lot of people to do almost anything. I have seen people go extra miles to engage in activities just for the money. One that surprised me so much was seeing a man take off his clothes and run in a market because of a prize of about 10HBD equivalent.
Even though I want to make money, and willing to do a lot for it, there's this business that a lot of people go into that I cannot imagine myself doing. That is restaurant business or Provision stores.
It's not that they are illegal businesses or bad in any way rather it's a personality and discipline thing for me. Of course we know how profitable these businesses are too especially restaurant.
So what is the big deal about these businesses?
Personally, I have a sweet tongue and will find it hard to resist finishing the food, especially the meat or the provisions that I am selling. If this happens, you know that the business is headed for failure.
The picture is mine
One important rule about business is to not eat what you sell, but I know from experience that I will default if I go into any of these businesses and end up regretting, so I prefer to not go into it in the first place.
One time I bought provisions for boarding school during the holidays. I ate the provisions at home and finished it before the school even resumed. Some other times when I manage to go to school with my provisions, I finish the whole thing within the first week of school. So you see that from these little experiences of mine, I already know that I should not try provision store business.
At home, I am not allowed into the kitchen when they are frying meat, lol. Because they know I will devour the meat before they are even done. Same with frying plantains.
It's important to know yourself and avoid things that you know are temptations for you. Telling yourself the truth is an important requirement of progress and survival. Avoiding challenging situations are very important in my making decisions.

Lol. The part where you said you finished your provisions before school resumed is something I thing those of us who went to boarding houses can relate to. Nice write up.
