Writing This Way

For some reason, I just subscribed to the idea of being a writer and getting into writing without even having a level of experience or mentorship per say into it. I kind of had an interest in it and decided to take the pen and venture into this skill. Not to make it look all easy and rosy. Writing has its perks too.

Like every other work of art and creativity, writing doesn't just come out of nowhere. It takes a process of assimilation, thoughts, ideas flowing and then the execution on the piece of paper or computer/phone screen. Therein is where many have issues with writing. Basically, every writer has it at some points, which could come as blocks.

However, when one finds the right formula and what works for them, it becomes a beautiful experience. Not lacking some hurdles though. Thankfully, this blockchain has helped me find a way to write and grow in writing. It's a lot better than before. Big thanks to Hive once again for the numerous communities with their weekly prompts that inspire authors to write in this space.

Now, even in the midst of all these, writing can't still be said to be easy. From having an idea, presenting it in words suitable and then coming up with a title as well. I don't know if it's me, but going through all these isn't usually easy. Especially when you try to give out the best. That is the case mostly for me.

Let me start with the title. Once again, I appreciate the labour of the various communities in bringing forth prompts to write on week in and week out. Now that's wonderful. As much as that is great, there is a greater level of work in bringing forth the contents. The writing effort starts or ends with the topic for me. I try to find a title before starting, other times and maybe mostly, I find it at the end. Sometimes during the process of writing.

My titles come through sheer inspiration while writing or even before writing or after writing. In other cases, it takes me through little research and conversations with one of my handy buddies; Meta AI. I ask for its suggestions at times and other times I bring the raw idea of a topic and ask for its input on how to fine-tune it. One way or another, this works. Going through the works of other authors in a few cases helps me come up with my title as well.

The inspiration from the work of other authors sometimes brings light to my ideas too. No person knows it all. My skill as a designer has also taught me to learn from the work of others which I feel goes well for every work of art or creativity. It goes beyond that though since I try to find my own original content most times.

All it takes at times is to start writing and boom, I don't stop till I'm done. There are still days of serious writer's blocks, which leave me struggling to find what to write. A lot of times, the ideas come flowing, drawing from life's experiences and lessons and maybe from communion with nature. Since writing is also a work of research, I tend to do that in some cases. Especially with topics I'm not well familiar with.

The research gives me an insight into what I need to write about. Then I dig deep and bring up something with that knowledge gained. Writing can be a big deal, because it is actually a big deal in some sense. These ways have helped me and will continue to I believe. Learning never stops though, so I open up to more ways to this better.

P.S. The title of this post even came up after the write-up. Chuckles.

This 👆 is a simplified explanation and detailing of how my writing life goes.

Thank you for sharing @daverick

Thank you very much. I'm glad this makes sense and is relatable as well.

I appreciate your comment sir.

Your writing journey is akin to mine. Once I start writing,I don't stop till I'm done. Then getting the title is another task that I have to get through as well. Sometimes, I just go with the flow and make something up from the prompt question given😁

Abi na...
That's it. I don't stop till I'm done. Except for days that writer's block will want to injure me. And that title own too, it's a battle sometimes. Lol.
A right title can be difficult, sometimes it comes easily or yes, we just flow with the prompt. Haha.
