Having being a team member and a leader in some occasion, I have come to realize how powerful it is to break down tasks. It simply makes tasks that are suppose to be complex become smaller and manageable. But for this to be possible, the team must be collaboration even after dividing the tasks among themselves. Everyone must not be perfect in all ramification, releasing the strength of every member of a team and allowing them individually do what what they know how to do best is really important.

SOME BENEFITS OF DIVISION OF LABOUR


The most prominent importance of division of labour is the fact that it boost productivity. It creates the possibility of putting every hand on deck and once every hand is on deck goals are archived faster than usual. It also help the team in discovering the strength of one another and to know how best to use each and every member of their team. With this being made possible specialists and experts are placed in their right place and the quality of productivity is improved as well.


DIVISION OF LABOUR IN TOGETHERNESS


Even in division of labour, a team must be capable of supporting each other and this support can only come to being if there is togetherness among the team. It is important then that members of a team shear their identity, purpose and ideas. All of these contributes to the building the team, it also fosters togetherness and allow the team members build strong relationships among themselves.


MY DAYS WITH MY TEAM


To be part of a team is sometimes no easy task, it requires being able to carry everyone along and this carrying along must come from every member of the team. Being importuned to be a one time CDS President during my NYSC program, my most used phrase was "it is our thing". As much as possible, I tried my best to create an atmosphere were everyone will be carried along by everyone. We were a team and I was really happy to have being the team leader. No one was exempted, we were all in it together with everyone doing there own part. It was not all rosy though, there were times when we disagreed but we made sure to never break our bound even in times of disagreements. No matter how much we disagreed, we still made sure we reconciled with ourselves and that kept us going.

From my previous experience I have come to realize the need to give every member of a team the chance to show what they have got. It is only by doing so that the strength and weakness of every team member will be discovered, and that is very important. Every member of the team must also come to bound with one another so as to enable and foster togetherness, only then can a division of labour which would not end up causing chaos be achieved. Establishing division of labour is a team void of unity might in fact yield no fruit.
