Good morning/afternoon or evening from any where you are, it's another day and privilege to share our thoughts and ideas here on the platform together....
When we talk about childishness, i see it as a act in which someone is into that he might not understand the shame or results behind it at that perticular time or stage. Or a stage which someone finds everything he does as the best among all.
And when you are growing up and learning more, when they tell you about your past childish behaviour you will end of quarrelling with the person, that why should he said that you did such things when you are little. Smiles yes you may end up having issues at that point if it's between you and your fellow mate. That's still the childish behaviour.
When i come across this topic i was so happy and excited to share my thoughts and experiences because it was back then,and honestly speaking some things we do back then children of nowadays don't do it anymore because many things have changed in this days. I remember when we're in primary school days we aren't allow to use phones in the class,if your teacher should mistakenly hear something like that,he will collect the phone and still bring you out in front of assembly ground to disgraced and punished you for doing that, but nowadays children in primary 6 are already using phone in the classroom and even when the report you to your teacher,the highest thing he will say is that keep that phone in your bag or i will collect it from you that's all.
Back then when teacher gives us assignment or home work,we normally do this stuff ourselves even when we know we're going to fail it, we'll still do it. But nowadays when a teacher gives students assignment, they'll immediately go to the internet and browse the answers to those questions. Can you see that there were so many differences back then and now..?
Now to question, I have five points to share with you as behaviours i found childish now....
0. When they give us money for Sunday school offering,we will end up hanging in one shop buy biscuits and eat, immediately they close from church we will also pretend as if we are just coming.
It's a funny one back then when every day you will praying that Sunday should come fast so that you will be asked to go to Sunday school, and is not that you are very serious about it ooo but you are just anxious of collecting that money for offering to buy biscuits or sweet gum. I was one of the people who will go and hang in those shop that they sell all this biscuits stuff and sit down there spend the money for the offering and i will be checking on the main road minutes to minutes to see if the service is closed. Then you will remain a little biscuits for your friend who will tell you what they thought you people in the church so that when you get back home you can defend yourself with the Sunday school topic.
And even when the send me to the market or to buy something like Okoro example,if am asked to buy 50 naira okoro I will end up buying 40 naira own so that i will have 10 naira for biscuits. Biscuits was everything to us that time.
0. Removing of meat from soup and denying. This is something that nobody can deny of not doing it when he/she was a little child. Yes let me share a story, the woman i leave with when i was young and growing up was a restaurant business woman she sells food and drinks,so the left reminant of food which the customer eat will be gathered together for pigs and dogs because her husband is keeping many pigs, I am the one that usually takes food to the pigs house. But when going sometimes i usually take one meat from the pot of soup and hide it in my stomach, like i will stocking in my shirt and put the meat inside the shirt,but unfortunately for me that day the food for the pigs where so much that i need someone to assist me lifting it up to my head, suddenly my shirt went up and the meat fell down lol, I was totally ashamed and I was just like to fly and never to come back again. And you know that when you put your hand inside soup it will get sour before morning or it will rise up getting ready to spoil, my mother will be complaining everyday that why is this soup always like this in the morning, not knowing that is the hand we normally put inside to carry the meat that makes it get sour. And you the person that always do it will be the one to swear to God that he don't know anything about it. but now all those characters are childishnes.
0. Praying that rain should fall so that you wouldn't go to school that day.
Yes this is also something that many people have done before, maybe you don't have your complete assignments done or your note is not complete and your teacher told you people is going to check your note books the next school days,or you don't have stockings and the social prefect will be inspecting and punishing students who are not complete in their school uniforms today. All you will be praying when sleeping is that rain should fall the next morning so that you will use it as an opportunity to complete the notes and look for a way to get your stockings ready before the next day. But sometimes you will find out that no rain in the morning and you don't have any options rather than receiving the punishment from your teacher or prefect.
You will be praying also that you wished they did not pay your school fees in time so that you will be send out of the class room, smiles very childish.
4: When they ask you to bath, you will end up pouring water on your legs and head then put on your clothes immediately so that nobody will see you and say you didn't bath well.
It is when raining season or cold period begins that this perticular point start. In the morning or evening when they say go and bath for school you will run and wash your legs, pour water on your head and rub some on your body so it will be as if you really took the bath and when you get to school your teacher will asked everyone that i hope you all took your bath before coming to school? Everyone will shout yessss sir,not knowing that it was washing leg you do. We normally call it (Koskorima) back then.
It's childish to me because i rather prefer not to take my bath than rubbing water on my body and pretending i have bathed.
5: When they say tommoro you people are going to farm, you will start pretending this night that you are not feeling well so they'll ask you to stay at home.
This point is just like where i said that you will be praying for rain to fall so that you will use it as an excuse of not going to school that day because your notes or uniforms are not intact.
I was someone that is very lazy in time of farm work, I always form story in times of going to farm and when the asked me to go and get drugs for myself, I will buy the drugs and keep it in my bag pretending am taking them because me myself know that am just lying.
And i was also doing welding work,so immediately i notice that everyone has left for farm when am back from school or they will keep a message with the young ones that when you are back you should come and meet them in the farm,but you will rush and go to your working place claiming that you never knew anything like that, and because of that welding work am into, it will make it easier for you when they want to punish you for not coming to the farm.
I aslo see it as childish behaviour because at this age of my life, I will be more happier to go to the farm and work so i can get food for eat and even store some of them.
We're all learning when growing and also we change in attitude and appearance when growing.
I will stop here, but there are many things which we can share together, but with this little lines i guess everyone will understand my point.

STOPI see you have allot of histories Bro, I am a victim of syphoning funds to buy sweets back then too but we thank God for growth, I'll rather add my money to buy whatever I'm sent to buy rather than stealing from it..
