Finding My Restart Button Through Gladiator

Today I felt like I pressed a “restart button”, not on a device, but in my mind and heart. Life can sometimes feel like a battlefield; everything moves fast, and we lose balance without noticing. So, I decided to pause, breathe, and recharge by watching one of my favorite inspirational movies — Gladiator (2000). It's been awhile so a friend reminded me of the movie and I quickly slide through the flash and go on watching the movie.

The film stars Russell Crowe as Maximus Decimus Meridius, a brave Roman general who was betrayed and reduced to slavery. Despite his pain, he found the strength to rise again, fighting his way to freedom. Alongside him, Joaquin Phoenix brilliantly plays Commodus, the ambitious emperor’s son, while Connie Nielsen as Lucilla and Oliver Reed as Proximo add depth to the story.

As I watched, I couldn’t help but meditate on the message, sometimes life knocks us down, but there’s always a chance to restart. Maximus lost his family, his title, and his power, yet he didn’t lose his purpose. That’s what a true restart looks like: not erasing the past, but finding strength in it.

After the movie, I spent some quiet time reflecting. I realized my own restart button is found in moments of peace, prayer, and purpose. Just like Maximus fought in the arena, I must keep fighting for my dreams, but with renewed energy and faith. I discovered that slavery is not only when those in power or authority enslave you, your mind too can enslave you into slavery, yeah I believe that y'all can also attest the fact of what I'm talking about.

I wasn't a movie fan but I tried to keep a watch today and I did, it was interesting though and it was because I'm not longer in school for now if not I'm not sure I could have go through it. If you check the picture I captured in the room behind me the screen is showing part of the movie scene from the wall in the room, and I remembered quickly to share it here with this week entry prompt

Let me use this opportunity to invite some of the newbies in the community to also participate in this week prompt
