Hello My Friends, My name is Michael Joseph Odhiambo and I’m 31 years old and I’m from Kisumu Kenya which is a city on the shores of Lake Victoria that always gives me a sense of peace and energy at the same time and I love it since my childhood and I’ve been working as an agricultural engineer for over six years now and I really love my job because it keeps me close to the land to the crops and to the people who live off the work of their hands and I believe that it is best profession in the world, Ya we give them the food.
I graduated from Moi University in Kenya in Faculty of Agriculture and I’ve always been someone who loves hands-on experiments and educational farms as Right now, I live with my wife Beatrice and we have a little daughter named Zena who’s 3 years old and my mother also lives with us since my father passed away four years ago.
Since I was a kid I loved trying to understand how plants grow and I used to ask so many questions about why crops succeed in some places and fail in others which that passion grew with me and now I’m in charge of projects that focus on developing sustainable agriculture in our area and I love to read world researches to do it in our country.
But farming isn’t the only thing I care about as I really love cooking especially traditional Kenyan dishes and I enjoy playing chess and I watch Premier League football matches regularly. Lately, I’ve also gotten into the world of cryptocurrency and it has become a real passion for me as I love learning about blockchain and how cryptocurrencies can give young people in Africa better financial opportunities.
Every day, I try to balance my work and my family and my hobbies as I do not like routine but I dream of one day starting a smart farm that uses modern technology and also launching a small project to teach people in Kenya about crypto in a simple and accessible way and I believe life is full of opportunities, and whoever follows their passion will eventually find their path no matter how hard it is.
