Good day, people of Hive! Welcome to my blog. Today's topic is from Hive-Reachout, which says: Modern Technology. So let's dive in.
We are in the days of technology, everyday we hear about new innovations and inventions, all these for the benefit of man. But in the midst of these advancements, somethings seems to be dying silently among us and that is our real human connection.
Modern technology, like I said, has made life easier for us in so many ways. Let me use communication as an example. In the olden days — the days of our forefathers, people had to travel long distances or send letters through the post office that would take many days, weeks, or even months to arrive, just to pass information. But now, in this modern technology era, with just a phone call or a message, we can reach our family and friends anywhere in the world. Because of this technology, students can now attend online classes, and families can make video calls despite their distance. It has also made learning easier, we can be at home and still study or even earn money.
Modern technology has also made things faster for us. We can now shop online without going out. Because of this technology, sending money is now easy. There’s no need to go to the bank to withdraw cash, we can just transfer money to the person we’re buying from.

However, while modern technology is making life easier for us, it is also causing problems. The reason I said this is because, so many people today, including teenagers, are so focused on their phones that they barely have time to talk or connect with others physically. If we walk into a room, we’ll see everyone so busy pressing their phones instead of going out to make friends and explore. Instead of seeing each other face-to-face, they prefer to chat online. And because of this, we are slowly losing that human connection that makes relationships real.
Before modern technology, people used to visit others often, play together, chat together, eat together, and so on. That’s why when we buy phones for our old mothers to make calls, they still prefer to see that person face-to-face, because during their time, they weren’t used to phones.
And do we know that technology has really affected us in ways we can’t even explain? Because of technology, people are starting to compare their lives with others. When we scroll online and see how people are living, the kind of clothes they wear or the lives they live, we start comparing ourselves with them, which is not supposed to be.
And believe me when I say some of us are now addicted to our phones and find it hard to focus. If some people don’t have their phones with them, it’s as if they’re not alive, because without their phones, they can’t do anything or even breathe.
In my opinion, modern technology is both a blessing and a curse, a blessing in the sense that it makes life easier, and a curse in the sense that it’s slowly taking away our human connection. What we need is balance. We have to balance everything so that it won’t affect us.
In conclusion, modern technology has completely changed our world and made life easier. Now it’s up to us to use it wisely so that it won’t affect us too much.
This is my entry for the Hive-Reachout Weekly Prompt 69.

Modern technology is useful but some humans have made it look like it is a curse.
