Fading connections...

The world has been evolving with technology since the 18th century in an unprecedented rate. Ranging from tools creation using stones and bones, to discovering fire for warmth, cooking and lighting, fast forward to the invention of calculating devices, light bulbs, radio, mobile phones, computers and lots other machineries which aids living and makes life easier and comfortable.

Not to mention the more advanced ones like artificial intelligence (AIs), robots and virtual reality (VR).

Every advantage equally has its disadvantage tagging along and the same thing goes for modern technology.

It's safe to say that technology has infiltrated into all aspects of human life and succeeded in making it easier and emptier at the same time.
Gone are the days when people grab their bags, put on their footwears and head to Mummy Blessing's house to know how they have been faring.

It's just a text message or a phone call but the truth is that, not all conversations can be had over the phone. Worst still, in cases whereby the other party doesn't wish to burden another with his mental, physical and emotional issues, it's simply a "Oh I'm doing great" response to every enquiry.

That is why there have been cases of someone passing away unexpectedly and the rest of the family are dumbfounded saying things like, "I spoke with him at length few days ago and he was perfectly fine".

If such a conversation was had physically, the reverse would have been the case. A white lie cannot be detected 💯 over a phone call. But with a physical interaction, simply judging from one's facial expression and even certain body movements, you can easily tell how such person is and has been coping.

Technology has thereby tampered with human connection and created a barrier to the detection of others' true emotions and feelings, leaving one with no other option than to believe whatever you're told and then receive a shocker when the truth comes to light...... when it might have been too late..... and the damage is done.

We can't undermine the upsides of technology in different facets of human life. We can only maintain balance in its usage and replenish the life qualities that are gradually fading into the background.
Rather than allowing technology to control us, let's turn the tables and control it. Just as it should be!

Genuine human connections has been affected by tech advancements but like u said, we shouldn't allow technology to control us but find ways to balance things

Eggxactly........ We should rather harness it effectively than let it influence our lives in every possible way.
