The colour code of truth and lie

in Hive Reachout15 hours ago

As humans, emotions are our raw responses to whatever life throws at us. We're characterised by our ability to show emotions; happy, sad, nervous, scared, name it which makes us smile, moody, shiver respectively........... depending on the situation at hand.

Emotions are natural phenomena and basically the spice of life which I believe, makes life worth living.

However, showing off one's emotions sometimes seems to be a hassle. While some see it as a display of weakness and vulnerability, a few others mask theirs due to some expectations that might be demanded of them.

Using myself as a case of study, some years back, I was literally an open book. The moment anything happens, my facial expression gives off how I feel about it.

In cases whereby I felt terribly bad, my face contorts into sadness and successfully elicits pity from the other party which I never liked cause I felt it was pathetic.

Over the years, I've tried to change that, letting my emotions show only when I want it to, such that I could be hurt but effortlessly appear indifferent. To me, it's a way of letting people know only the things I want them to and not every damn thing about my life.

I actually found myself envisioning such a truly colourful world as I thought through the possibility of such a world being in existence and it's pretty good and bad at once. Simply put, bittersweet.

I mean, in the aspect of being able to detect one's true state especially our loved ones who might not want to bother others with their struggles, deciding to bear it all alone, I would truly appreciate a colour code to know the real deal.

And let's not forget the part of promises. I don't like situations when someone makes a promise to me and fails to fulfil it.

It's understandable when such person got tied up with work and the like but then, a good number of people are fond of making empty promises with no intention whatsoever, to fulfill it.
So a colour code would definitely help me to detect such and not get my hopes up.

But at the end of the day, a world of absolute truth may not be one we would want to live in. Yes...... everyone loves candidness but the price of truth might just be way too steep.
