Beyond secret: Embracing transparency for a stronger relationship

I had to check the meaning of transparency or transparent to be sure I understand it. When you are transparent, it means you're honest, truthful and you are open. Even before this topic, j babe always believed that in every relationship whether marriage, friendship or even dating, transparency is very important. You let them know how you feel, what you think, what you are doing, this how trust is built.

Few days I was having a conversation with my husband, it's not something we discussed once, we have talked about it before. So he said to me, thank God you were honest and transparent with me about yourself, that if I wasn't then we wouldn't have gotten this far. I believe that when I am with someone then the person should know everything there is to know about me and the person should also do the same, that is tell me everything there is to know.

I have seen several reels on Facebook and also read several posts where people talk about hiding things from your spouse, in some videos they say it's okay to hide some things so your spouse won't use it against you later. But this is a no for me, like I don't support it at all. When I saw it, the next thought on my mind was, what if I hide things as they say then tomorrow my spouse finds out about it, how do I explain myself.

Some people say that when you say the truth that the person will leave you, what if you hide and the person finds out tomorrow, won't he or she also leave? Why not be transparent and if he or she wants to stay they stay than hide it and the person eventually leaves tomorrow. If the person truly loves you then he should be stay with you and that's when you know that this person loves you.

When you're transparent, it gives your partner peace of mind. He or she knows you're not hiding anything. When you're in a relationship where love exist, then truth should also exist, because what is the point of being with someone you can't be free and open with.

Let's take marriage for example, if one partner is hiding money or talking to someone secretly, it builds suspecion. The other person may start to feel insecure. But when both partners talk about everything, even the difficult ones, they feel closer and stronger.

I'm not saying that you should tell your partner every detail at every minute or second but whatever affects your relationship must be shared.

Privacy is very different from secrecy. Some people think that because they are private mean they should be secretive about important issues. Everyone deserves space to think and also be alone sometimes. But secrecy is when you hide the things that your partner is supposed to know about.

It's also the same thing in friendship, if you're open to your friends about things then your friendship will last longer but if you're not, the friendship won't get anywhere.

Love cannot grow in secrecy and for this I believe transparency is important, it should be the watchword of every relationship. If you want to build something strong and lasting then you have to be open, you have to be truthful.

Deep thoughts you shared here❤️
I'll always say.. You can't shame the shameless.. This comes in handy when an Individual tends to hide certain details for the fear of being misunderstood or left behind by a loved one.

But like you stated.. Who loves you won't leave.. And in my opinion a sensible human would be sure to know sincerity when he sees it.
I'm a big believer of transparency especially in a romantic relationship and that alone is a major factor for an healthy union.

It truly is. If he or she leaves then the love isn't there.

So insightful ✅
Transparency help a lot in making every steps and efforts well understood without any misunderstanding or regrets.
