If I go somewhere, especially to malls and supermarkets, I always pay attention to the toilet. Toilet is a facility that must be owned by buildings, public places or parks, because basically, everyone needs a place to pee or poop, right?

It's a bit strange indeed, if I'm here to review a toilet facilitated by a commercial building that is used for a mall. However, you really want you to know how a toilet is in a building in Indonesia, to be precise in my city, Medan - North Sumatra.

This time, unlike usual, I chose to review the toilets in the biggest mall in my city, Deli Park Mall. This mall is in the heart of the city, not far from point 0 of Medan city. I often visit the mall because it is close to my house and several outlets are very complete. If you want to shop for items with several expensive and famous brands such as Coach, Kate Spade, Tumi, Sephora and many others, this mall is a recommendation.

After walking around the mall, because I was really looking for an item and maybe I drank too much water, I quickly rushed to find a toilet. In this mall, each floor is provided with separate public toilets for men and women. After defecating, I wash my hands with soap and tap water provided by the mall management. I realized one thing at that time, that it turns out that the toilets in this mall are very clean. Not only clean, the toilet design is also very well made for the convenience of mall visitors.

Okay, let's start from the first why I like the toilet here. When I was about to wash my hands, I saw a sink that had a unique shape. It is square in shape and appears to hang with no visible pipe, covered with solid ceramic or granite. The water faucet is also automatic, but this has become a hygienic standard, especially in this pandemic era, which requires everything without touching.

There are 4 sinks provided, but 2 sinks are sealed for caution psycal distancing. Quite interesting although I don't think people care about covid-19 anymore. In front of the sink, a very large glass was made and there were also 2 beautiful flower pots even though they were fake flowers.

This mall toilet is very clean, the toilet and sink are very well maintained, it seems there is 1 officer who specifically stands by in the toilet to clean after the toilet is used. I don't even see a grain of dust in this toilet. On the right and left walls of the toilet, there is glass that meets the wall, it looks very shiny. Apparently, the use of glass in the corner of the wall makes the toilet room look very wide and spacious.

What amazed me from all the contents of the toilet room was the breastfeeding room facilities. This one room is right next to the toilet, used for changing diapers and breastfeeding for those in need. A very comfortable black sofa is provided with several qualified facilities for nursing mothers. Designed with cartoon pictures on the wall and height measurements. There is a clean sink and also clean tissues for free use.

The management thinks and considers things that are very important for visitors who bring children and babies. I think this is very smart and good enough so that visitors are comfortable and don't worry about just hanging out at this mall.

In front of the toilet, there is a very unique waiting room. Very well designed semi-circle. Even without a sofa, it is made of cement and ceramic which is made like a chair and is given a lamp as a light. I think, the architect thought of making it like this so that there is no need to replace the sofa every year just because it breaks. More economical and efficient, right?

Even though if we go to the toilet, we will walk down a very long corridor, but the corridor leading to the toilet is very clean, beautiful and perfectly designed to match the efficiency of the use of the room.

See you the next time hive friends!

This is really beautiful, I love that besides being very clean, its design is so well thought out, not only is it elegant, it is comfortable and they thought of everything, a lactation room, I have never been to a bathroom that has this area and how I need it with my baby. Thank you for sharing these amazing photos.

I am also very amazed to see that there is a nursing room that is very comfortable to handle baby changing diapers and maybe pumping milk. Very clean, comfortable and safe for baby and mother.

Greetings @aswita. I could probably sleep for a long time in a luxurious toilet like that, lol 🤣 The Architect and Interior Designer definitely did an awesome job in producing quite a sophisticated masterpiece of architecture in that mall restroom. That flower vase on the countertop simply added to its natural and calming ambiance. 😁

Just curious. What are the usual mall business hours in that part of Indonesia?

Usually from 10 am to 10 pm, it's different if it's a weekend, maybe it will be longer :D
I rarely visit malls if I don't need to, but this mall has a myriad of places like open green parks to attract the sympathy of visitors, unlike the usual malls.

Maybe because the mall and luxury apartments are next door to the owner of the same group :D
