Dacha of Georg Mesmakher (18 photos)

DSC01999.jpg

Yesterday I upgraded my old manual Helios 44-2 lens. I also showed how it works yesterday (I could not wait for today to share my joy). So, in order to test this lens in its new quality, I went to a wild city park called Shuvalovsky. With the weather, I was not lucky, every now and then it rained and it was quite cool. But I was lucky with another. I met Mesmakher's dacha again.

Dacha of Georg Mesmakher ("Yellow Dacha") is a wooden mansion of Georg Egorovich Mesmakher on the territory of Shuvalov Park, built in 1902 according to the project of his brother, architect Maximilian Mesmakher. It is the only remaining unchanged wooden building in Mesmakher.

This is a beautiful wooden house, which is in the process of destruction. Unfortunately. To my deep regret. This is a truly outstanding example of wooden architecture.

Of course, I couldn't just walk past him and not take a few pictures. Moreover, I walked around this dacha from all sides. My reward was ... a handful of raspberries. I never thought I could find raspberries in the fall. It was a gift from Mesmacher or the Spirit who still lives in this ... castle.

To me, this old wooden house really looks like an old haunted castle. I don't even know if I want to have it repaired and restored. I am afraid that the use of new technologies, materials and paints will deprive him of this chic look. But on the other hand, it hurts me to watch how it collapses.

The house is overgrown with trees and bushes. It is not easy to find a point to photograph this building. Either you come close and the house does not fit into the frame, or you move away and the house hides among the trees. I tried to find some kind of compromise and you will see different shots. Somewhere the whole house will be visible, somewhere its separate parts.

By the way, the gloomy weather was very consistent with the appearance of this house. It looks like they were on the same wavelength. Here are just wet bushes and thick grass ... but I dealt with it. As you noticed, I started to walk around the house moving clockwise, that is, from the left side. And the further I went, the sadder the view became ...

The backyard was practically destroyed, the lower window was knocked out and it was possible to get inside. But my clothes were not appropriate for such an event. I continued to walk around this dilapidated ghost castle and ended up in a kind of garden.

DSC01977.jpg

There were several old apple trees and bushes of wild garden raspberries. In addition, ordinary trees grew. Nobody has looked after the garden for a long time.

There is no beauty of the front façade, but rather just outbuildings. But they may have appeared later.

Maybe this brick chimney was inside the building. Over the years, a lot could have changed.

And now I will show you a photo of this house, which I took with an updated lens. Unfortunately, in this modification, the lens lost its focus to infinity. But I will fix it, but for now this is ... an oil painting.

On this note, I say goodbye to you until we meet again.
Take care of yourself and your loved ones.

Oh @bambuka you show me all of these absolutely majestic and abandoned houses that I fall in love with every time!

So how am I ever going to be able to decide which one to move into! 😃

In one of my wishful parallel universes I could quite happily be the old witch with a thousands cats wandering around everywhere in that house! 😃

If with cats and a broom as a vehicle, then it is better to move to this house.
It even reminds me of Gothic and Middle Ages))

Sounds just like me! I'm in. SOLD! 🤣

Yes, gothic with all of the little turrets and poky spires...I just LOVE it.

That's is the work of a true craftsman. Such a shame they've let it go to rot.

So just how many of those aged and style houses have been abandoned waiting for me to move in do you have over there then?

And they all seem to be in the perfect area for witches too- out in the forest...😁.. so the neighbours won't hear the screams of the children...oops I mean the wailing of the cats...🤣

Yes, this house reliably hides secrets and muffles the terrible screams ... of course cats. And more vampires. Yes, you can find any neighbors here. There is another curious building next to this place. I will put it up for sale soon. True, it is not made of wood and I would not say that it is heavily abandoned. But it is unique. At least for these places ...

Sweet! I can't wait.
You for me, are the realtor of the century! 🤣
You know exactly what I want and how loud the screams will be...oops I mean how much I like my 'peace'...and loud music..🤣😂😅

You for me, are the realtor of the century!

I will be proud of this title, perhaps I will make a special sign and post it on the site ... if you need a torture hall, a cute dungeon or an attic for ghosts ... well, you understand me :))

Haaa YES!

I know quite a few other people that would invest in your services too!
Aaand since you seem to frequent places like that in your travels anyway....well kill 2 with 1...🤣

I also like to call them 'FUNgeons' too...it gives the name dungeon a much better sounding experience! 🤣

This is a truly outstanding example of wooden architecture.

I agree, I also love this kind of structure, it is one of those that stands out and the ones that make us remember how great are the wooden structures of the old times.

Какой интересный дом.
С фасада. А с тыла как всегда. Как у Портоса одёжка. :)

Да, как, впрочем, везде... :)
