DESIGN THINKING
Welcome, today we will be together looking towards design direction, meaning and values. What are you thinking after the first prompt of this post? That is exactly what we will both appreciate in the end. We are going to enjoy the notion and benefits of DESIGN. This topic will take me like a much research but I will do it for our sake- to nurture and enrich of understanding of design.
In our daily life, we come across different products both physical and some that are in form of services. Say your Building, Smartphone, Laptop, Toaster. It does not stop there. It cuts on and on through our garment, shoes and a lot.
For the sake of history and our deep understanding of where HUMAN begin his journey, we will start with ARCHITECTURE!
Introduction to ARCHITECTURE 1.0
If you have been following our post for three posts earlier, you would resonate with me that we have discussed explicitly some topic ranging from BIM, ROBOTICS, GARMENT and some interesting topics. With the same energy, we will be following the same approach to look back into the history, try to make sense of the presence and think and forecast where we are going altogether into the FUTURE.
What is meaning of Architecture?
Archictecture is both artistic and scientific thought processes in which natural components are adapted to new form for the purpose of establishing our values, culture and perceived needs.
So, all architectural products are deepenly developed with sense of needs and connecting our perceived values to our lifestyle. Our belief, opinion, aspirations, wants and other required needs are perfectly achieved by Architects, Designers and Product Managers with our own involvement through finance and delibrate costs.
In the definition, it stated that architectural tasks are process driven. With that, we consider requirements, site analysis, culture, belief, philosophy and government regulations. There are many historical feats and accounts of many archictectural designs from Greek history, Islamic World, Byzantine and Rome, Japenese these are really decorative by using geometrical shapes such as straight line and compass. Modern archictecture is driven by functions and no to little ornamentation which is banal(common place) in Classical Architecture. There are many maxims in Archictecture, I personally love and believe in FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION. That believe establishes that function of a product should come first before any other aethestic, appealling and attractive forms. With current experience in consumer market, that maxim should be FORMS and FUNCTIONS ARE ONE.
