Architecture of the church in the countryside

in Architecture+Design11 months ago

My hometown is a coastal area in the North of Vietnam, where I was born and raised next to rice fields and villages interwoven between the fields. If viewed from satellite images it will look like oases surrounded by vast rice fields. From the fourteenth century when Christian missionaries traveled in merchant ships, the coastal areas and deltas near the great rivers received new religions when Buddhism and folk beliefs dominated. opposite to. To this day, when we pass through the coastal lands, we will see many churches standing out above the low houses whose rice fields facilitate easy visibility on all sides.

I come home to visit and often walk through the small fields by the fields to different villages and have their own churches. Each church has different architectures that bring something fascinating to look at. Because the distances between the villages are quite close, the transportation is very convenient. Most of the architecture of the churches near my house is in Gothic style with pointed arches and characteristic stained-glass windows.

These works are not too massive because the rural population density of each village is modest. Very few churches have a bell tower independent of the main cathedral. Seamless and different textures at the top of the tower are quite diverse, usually a double or triple bell tower.

Personally, I rate the ingenuity of the builders and architects as not high. Although it is not too monotonous and well decorated, the carvings are eye-catching and intricate. But it is still not as sophisticated and sophisticated as Western architecture. The details and lines just have some iconic local art but it's still raw and the difficulty is low.

The domes look quite eye-catching with the fish-scale red tile in the sunlight more attractive. It's a pity that I don't have a view from above to see the cross-shaped structure of the churches. I haven't been able to tour all the churches around because it's a lot and takes time but some of the features here can describe it.
