Edificios que se mantienen en el tiempo y aunque necesitan de muchos retoques y cuidados, siguen reteniendo su genuino encanto.

Un encanto que nos traslada en el tiempo, ese tiempo en el que las Balconeras se trabajaban en forja y cristales, por manos de artesanos que hacían los trabajos uno a uno.
A charm that takes us back in time, to the time when the Balconeras were worked in wrought iron and glass, by the hands of craftsmen who did the work one by one.
Vidrieras que hoy en día nos llaman la atención por sus muchos detalles. Algo que ahora, no se realiza.
Hoy día es impensable, pedir trabajos de este tipo y que nos hagan el aislamiento acústico y térmico que queremos y esperamos de los cerramientos metálicos.
Stained glass windows that nowadays attract our attention because of their many details. Something that is not done nowadays.

Entonces eran otros tiempos en los que primaba la belleza de los detalles.

Tengo que reconocer que me encantan este tipo de edificios pero estas formas que se realizaban a principios del siglo pasado, me entusiasman. Te hacen disfrutar de esos techos altos, esas puertas y ventanas de mucho más de dos metros que lucían y daban grandeza a las casas.

Hoy en día se valora mucho más de lo que se hizo en tiempos pasados, por ello se han perdido tantos y tantos de ellos.
Those woodwork and details in all the carpentry of the houses. It is something that makes me enjoy the old, the old, what should always be valued.

Afortunadamente ellos se han reciclado y han pasado de ser grandes viviendas familiares, a diferentes pisos de vecinos. De tener bajos en los que estaban los recibidores y patios interiores de los edificios, a tener locales comerciales y freidurías de churros que hoy en día son tradición de la zona, como es el caso de las imágenes que hoy os muestro.
Fortunately they have been recycled and have gone from being large family homes, to different flats for neighbours. From having ground floor flats where the entrance halls and inner courtyards of the buildings used to be, to having commercial premises and churros frying houses that are nowadays a tradition in the area, as is the case of the images I am showing you today.
Edificios que perduran en el tiempo, mimetizando su labor, actualizando su interior y dejando ver, lo que un día fueron y siempre serán.
Buildings that endure over time, mimicking their work, updating their interiors and revealing what they once were and always will be.
Situados generalmente en calles de mucho arraigo, en este caso la calle en la que esta situado el edificio que os muestro es la calle del duque de Tetuán.
Calle que desemboca en la plaza de la Iglesia, Santuario de la Inmaculada Concepción.
Generally located in deeply-rooted streets, in this case the street where the building I am showing you is located is Calle del Duque de Tetuán.
This street leads to the Plaza de la Iglesia, Sanctuary of the Immaculate Conception.
Hoy día es más conocida por el bar freiduría que tiene en los bajos del edificio que por su antigüedad o arquitectura.
Este tipo de edificio existe creo en todas las ciudades, perdidos de los ojos y que solo son vistos por quien quiere perder en segundo y mirar arriba para disfrutar de lo que nos muestran.
Cosa que tengo que decir, suelo hacer siempre y cada vez que visito algún sitio 😅.
Today it is better known for the fried food bar on the ground floor of the building than for its age or architecture.
I think this type of building exists in every city, lost to the eye and only seen by those who want to lose a second and look up to enjoy what they show us.

Desde siempre me ha gustado disfrutar de lo que nuestros barrios y ciudades no guardan.

Afortunadamente se están restaurando mucho de ellos y las calles se hacen peatonales, cosa que engrandece el valor paisajístico y da calidad de vida, en nuestros municipios. Pudiendo dejar ver sus tesoros, sus edificios más queridos y haciendo de ellos, puntos focales de nuestro paisaje urbano.
Fortunately, many of them are being restored and the streets are being made pedestrianised, which enhances the landscape value and gives quality of life in our municipalities. We can see their treasures, their most beloved buildings and make them focal points of our urban landscape.
