Hoy me gustaría contaros un poco sobre uno de mis lugares favoritos en Málaga, el paseo marítimo Antonio Banderas.
Today I would like to tell you a little bit about one of my favourite places in Malaga, the promenade Antonio Banderas.
Este paseo no es otro que el de toda la vida porque hoy día a cambiado muchísimo y de lo que antes era una zona muy muy humilde de mi preciosa Málaga alrededor de los años 70 hasta finales de los 90, hoy día es una de las zonas más caras de Málaga capital y la más cotizada por los promotores que están realizando una gran serie de edificios con viviendas de lujo.
This promenade is none other than the one of all life but today it has changed a lot and what was once a very humble area of my beautiful Malaga around the 70s until the late 90s, today is one of the most expensive areas of Malaga capital and the most sought after by developers who are making a large series of buildings with luxury homes.
En este precioso paseo , se pueden distinguir con mucha facilidad dos grandes torres de ladrillos de barro que sobresalen entre los edificios.
On this beautiful promenade, you can easily distinguish two large mud brick towers that stand out from the buildings.
Hoy día hay una de ellas que esta situada justo a la mitad de este paseo y la otra, aún se ve un poco más alejada.
Today, one of them is situated right in the middle of the promenade and the other one is a little further away.
En el caso de hoy, me gustaría destacar la que yo conozco desde pequeña y que hoy día se encuentra en el centro del gran paseo.
In today's case, I would like to highlight the one I have known since I was a child and which today is in the centre of the great promenade..
Una torre de ladrillo que nos deja ver, la gran ciudad industrial que un día fue Málaga.
En el siglo XVIII Y XIX, Málaga estaba muy industrializada. Era de las grandes ciudades costeras industrializadas de España. Esto se desmontó con la guerra civil y hoy día es una gran potencia cultural, debido a la gran variedad de museos y edificios históricos que hay en ella y por supuesto, capital del turismo Costa de Sol.
Desde mediados de los años 60, la costa de Málaga comenzó a edificar hoteles y fue elegida por muchos turistas Europeos y en muchas zonas de la costa por grandes magnates y aristocracia. Este es el caso de Marbella.
A brick tower that gives us a glimpse of the great industrial city that once was Malaga.
In the 18th and 19th century, Malaga was highly industrialised. It was one of the great industrialised coastal cities of Spain. This was dismantled with the civil war and today it is a great cultural power, due to the great variety of museums and historical buildings in it and of course, capital of the Costa de Sol tourism.
From the mid 60's, the coast of Malaga began to build hotels and was chosen by many European tourists and in many areas of the coast by great magnates and aristocracy. This is the case of Marbella.
Pues como os decía, eso era muy diferente en el siglo pasado y sus fabricas se dejaban ver por la costa.
Well, as I said, that was very different in the last century and its factories could be seen along the coast.
Hoy día, estas grandes torres de ladrillo visto de barro, nos muestran sus orígenes industriales y son además de una edificación muy llamativa y diferente, un monumento arquitectónico histórico en un enclave maravilloso.
Today, these large mud brick towers show us their industrial origins and are not only a very striking and different building, but also a historical architectural monument in a marvellous enclave.
Cuando llegan los cruceros a la costa, ven estas grandes torres que contrastan completamente con los edificios colindantes y las arenas del mar.
When cruise ships arrive at the coast, they see these large towers that contrast completely with the surrounding buildings and the sands of the sea.
Junto a la playa de la misericordia como se llama la playa junto a ella, vemos esta gran torre que un día era chimenea de una de las fábricas. En concreto esta torre era chimenea de una fábrica de plomo situada a las afueras de la capital y que hoy día esta situada en uno de los lugares más bonitos y atractivos de la misma.
Esta torre fue construida para la fabrica de Plomo "Los Guindos" y fue la chimenea más alta de toda España. Con sus 96 metros de altura.
Next to the misericordia beach, as the beach next to it is called, we see this large tower that was once the chimney of one of the factories. Specifically, this tower was the chimney of a lead factory located on the outskirts of the capital and today it is located in one of the most beautiful and attractive places in the city.This tower was built for the lead factory "Los Guindos" and was the tallest chimney in Spain. It is 96 metres high.
Datos técnicos :
Altura total desde el nivel del mar 100,50 metros .
Longitud de la chimenea 96 metros.
Peso aproximado 2.200 Toneladas.
Diámetro de la chimenea: En la base ,8 metros y en la coronación 4 metros.
Anchura del muro de ladrillo de barro macizo, en la base, 1,20 metros y en la coronación 0,25 metros.
Technical data :
Total height from sea level 100.50 metres.
Length of the chimney 96 metres.Approximate weight 2.200 Tons.
Diameter of the chimney: 8 metres at the base and 4 metres at the top.Width of the solid mud brick wall: 1.20 metres at the base and 0.25 metres at the top.
Esta fábrica estuvo funcionando desde su inauguración en 1.922 hasta 1.979.
This factory was in operation from its inauguration in 1922 until 1979.
Durante los 80y 90 este lugar fue lugar sin ley, uno de esos lugares de los que se recomienda mejor no pasar por ellos por lo que se veía y se podía uno buscar en aquellos tiempos.
During the 80's and 90's this place was a lawless place, one of those places that it is better not to pass by because of what you could see and look for in those times.
En los primeros años del 2.000, se realizó las obras del paseo marítimo y esta fue una de sus grandes diferencias, un monumento que nos transmite mucho y que desde mi parecer , se merece ser admirado.
In the first years of 2000, the works of the promenade were carried out and this was one of its great differences, a monument that transmits us a lot and that, in my opinion, deserves to be admired.
Además de todo esto, es un punto de enfoque desde la costa , una forma de conservar los iconos.
Besides all this, it is a point of focus from the coast, a way of preserving the icons.
Curiosidad:
Yo siempre la llamo, la torre de Mónica, puesto que a mediados de los 90, un amado decidió poner el nombre de su novia , en una de las caras de la chimenea pintado con pintura blanca. Desde muchos puntos de la costa, se podía divisar su nombre Mónica. Esta es una de sus curiosidades, los malagueños , la conocen perfectamente por la torre Mónica.
Curiosity:
I always call it, Monica's tower, since in the mid 90's, a loved one decided to put the name of him girlfriend, on one of the faces of the chimney painted with white paint. From many points along the coast, you could make out her name Monica. This is one of its curiosities, the people of Malaga know it perfectly well by the name of the tower Monica.

the design is very unique. The bricks are arranged conical upwards. the photos you took are also great. Hopefully one day I can see him there in person.

Wow! it is a very tall tower, the brick cladding gives it a classic style very similar to the chimney of the artisan ovens to make pizza, the ride must be exciting and definitely the towers are the center of attraction, they stand out for their height and color.

This is indeed the case.
The contrast of the mud bricks next to the sands of the beach and the blue of the sea is very attractive.
I also have to say that this area is so beautiful that the towers that I show as a monument have gained a lot.
When I saw this building, I immediately thought of Indonesian tumpeng rice, namely rice made in a conical shape like this @garvi

It is an amazing tower, a monument, good that it is no longer a lawless place and that you can enjoy the tower. Monica's tower I like that.

It was a place far away from the city centre and that has changed so much that it is now one of the best places to live in the city by the sea.

Guao que torre tan impresionante, me gusta que tenga un nombre tan único dado por los locales. Si era de una fábrica de plomo, no debería ser algo peligrosa? Por la contaminación y así.
