THE HISTORY OF CHURCH ARCHITECTURE IN VALENCIA VENEZUELA

The history of architecture in Venezuela, is strongly linked to the Spanish influence not only in the area, but in everything related to religious and social cultural activities, so the different religious structures of the city, were aimed at paying tribute to the Spanish king and the church itself.

La historia de la arquitectura en Venezuela, va ligado fuertemente a la influencia española no solo en el área, sino en todo lo referente a las actividades culturales religiosas y sociales, por lo que las diferentes estructuras religiosas de la cuidad, iban dirigidas a rendir tributos al rey español y a la propia iglesia.

San Francisco church, opened in 18 was first called Capilla Real Convento de la Buena Aventura de la Valencia del Rey, has a neo-classical structure for the time of its inauguration, with three entrances and exits for visitors, in each of the gates, has the logo of the church and the Vatican. at the top the dome and the bell tower, in which you can see the city of Valencia and the most important buildings for the time of its opening.

La iglesia San Francisco, abierta en 1878 fue llamada primeramente Capilla Real Convento de la Buena Aventura de la Valencia del Rey, tiene una estructura neo clásica para la época de su inauguración, con tres entradas y salidas para los visitantes, en cada uno de los portones, posee el logo de la iglesia y el vaticano. en la parte superior la cúpula y el campanario, en el cual puede apreciarse la cuidad de Valencia y los edificios mas importante para la época de su apertura.

En el lado izquierdo de la iglesia, vemos a la estatua de San Francisco de Asís, mirando la cuidad de valencia, con sentido al sur de la cuidad y en la parte de arriba de la cúpula, para la distinción de los feligreses de esta comunidad religiosa, la cruz cristiana.

Because its own architecture has different styles and periods of influence, from colonial, neoclassical, Greek to the republican influence in the country's constructions by the IXX century, an example of this is the crypt created to house the bodies of the generals Manuel Cedeño and Ambrioso Plaza.

Posteriormente nos trasladamos a la Catedral Basílica Nuestra Señora del Socorro, inaugurada en 1580, constituye la primera edificación religiosa construida, ha tenido importantes cambios hasta la actualidad, en su estructura principal, tardo casi 250 años en terminarse en su totalidad, por las dificultades presentadas por las dificultades económicas vividas en la cuidad y posteriormente por la guerra de independencia contra el reino español. Por que su propia arquitectura tiene diferentes estilos y épocas de influencia, desde la colonia, neoclásica, griega hasta, la influencia republicana en las construcciones del país por el siglo IXX, un ejemplo de esto, es la cripta creada para albergar los cuerpos de los generales Manuel Cedeño y Ambrioso Plaza.

The columns of the church are of Corinthian order so that it has a plinth, which is a prismatic its base is supported in turn a plint, which is a prismatic piece of square plant, the shaft or pillar, this anacalado by 24 separate striae, the capital is the most important element of the column by the beauty of its structure, and can be seen as an inverted basket.

The main façade has three domes in which each one has different catholic crosses, the pediment and the towers have an important Greek influence, not to mention the clock on the top of the church on the right side, Inside the church, there are several works of art of the most recognized painters of the city as Herrera Toro or Arturo Michelena.

Las columnas de la iglesia son de orden corintio por lo que tiene su base se apoya a su vez un plint, que es una pieza prismática de planta cuadrada, el fuste o el pilar, esta anacalado por 24 estría separadas, el capitel es el elemento mas importante de la columna por la belleza de su estructura, y puede apreciarse como una cesta invertida.La fachada principal, posee tres cúpulas en el cual cada una de ella tiene diferentes cruces católicas, el frontón y las torres tiene una importante influencia griega, sin dejar de mencionar el reloj en la parte alta de la iglesia al lado derecho, Por dentro de la iglesia, existen varias obras de artes de los pintores mas reconocidos de la cuidad como Herrera Toro o Arturo Michelena.

Just a few blocks away, we can find another Catholic religious structure, the oldest in the city called La Candelaria Church, inaugurated in 1847, in its architecture can be seen a dome on the left side of the church, with a bell tower on the right side, the republican influence made that in its interior, there are works of Braulio Salazar or some decades ago, works of Arturo Michelena that were stolen without knowing their whereabouts.

It has 5 balconies on its main facade, with three colonial gates for the entrance and exit of people, on the central side of its structure, is the crown of the church, in honor of the Spanish kingdom with a cross at the top of the church.

Throughout this tour, it has been possible to see the important influence of Europe in all the buildings built in the city until almost the last century.

A solo unas cuentas cuadras, podemos encontrar otra estructura religiosa católica, mas antigua de la cuidad llamada la Iglesia La Candelaria, inaugurada en 1847, en su arquitectura puede apreciarse una cúpula del lado izquierdo de la iglesia, con un campanario al lado derecho, la influencia republicana hizo que en su interior, se encuentren obras de Braulio Salazar o algunas décadas atrás, obras de Arturo Michelena que fueron hurtadas sin conocerse su paradero. tiene 5 balcones en su fachada principal, con tres portones coloniales para la entrada y salida de las personas, en el lado central de su estructura, se encuentra la corona de la iglesia, en honor al reino español con una cruz en lo mas alto de la iglesia.En todo este recorrido, se ha podido ver, la importante influencia de Europa en todas las edificaciones construida en la cuidad hasta casi el siglo pasado.
