Colorful, cheerful interiors with exotic decorations encouraged me to go inside to this Thai restaurant, even though I hadn't planned it, and made me immediately feel a nice, happy mood. It is very important to me how I feel in a given place, so this good first impression I hoped would result in a positive culinary experience. I also liked the fact that no waiter greeted me 😉 (a relief for an introvert). However, upon entering, I was greeted by two bowing statues that looked like monks. The red and blue sculpture were smiling and being funny. Next to them stood a Chinese golden lucky cat.
Kolorowe, radosne wnętrza z egzotycznymi ozdobami zachęciły mnie, żeby wejść do tej tajskiej restauracji, mimo, że tego nie planowałam i sprawiły, że od razu poczułam fajny, radosny nastrój. Bardzo ważne jest dla mnie to jak się czuję w danym miejscu, więc to dobre pierwsze wrażenie miałam nadzieję, że zaowocuje pozytywnym doświadczeniem kulinarnym. Spodobało mi się też to, że nie przywitał mnie żaden kelner 😉 (ulga dla introwertyczki). Za to po wejściu przywitały mnie dwa kłaniające się posążki wyglądające na mnichów. Czerwona i niebieska rzeźba uśmiechały się i były zabawne. Obok nich stał chiński złoty kot przynoszący szczęście.
Soon the waiter came and when I asked where I could sit, he said wherever I wanted. That was nice to hear. I like to choose a place in a restaurant where I can sit, preferably out of the way, with a nice view of the rest of the restaurant. I found such a space for myself and was enchanted by what I saw around me. Many Buddhist figurines, characteristic Thai hats made of bamboo and palm leaves, and huge photos hung on the walls, covering the entire wall surface. They showed various snapshots of everyday life in Thailand, including: people floating on the river with boats filled with things to sell, the so-called floating market in Bangkok.
Wkrótce przyszedł kelner i gdy zapytałam, gdzie mogę usiąść, powiedział, że gdzie chcę. Miło było to usłyszeć. Lubię sobie sama wybrać miejsce w restauracji, gdzie mogę usiąść, najlepiej na uboczu, z fajnym widokiem na resztę restauracji. Znalazłam taką przestrzeń dla siebie i byłam oczarowana tym co widziałam dookoła. Wiele buddyjskich figurek, charakterystyczne tajskie kapelusze z bambusa i liści palmowych, a na ścianach wisiały ogromne zdjęcia, zajmowały całą powierzchnię ściany. Widać na nich było różne migawki z codziennego życia w Tajlandii, m.in. ludzi pływających po rzece z łodziami wypełnionymi rzeczami do sprzedania,na tzw. pływającym targu w Bangkoku.
I also liked various details, such as dummy fans, because it's cold in my country now and a fan is definitely not needed in such a restaurant, rather a radiator. Cool were also signs with the inscription extra spicy - very spicy, referring to the spiciness of Thai food
Podobały mi się też różne deale, jak wiatraki - atrapy, bo teraz w Polsce jest teraz zimno i w takiej restauracji na pewno nie jest porzebny wentylator, już bardziej grzejnik. Fajne były też tabliczki, z napisem extra spicy - bardzo pikantne, nawiązujące do pikantności tajskiego jedzenia.
The menu in this restaurant is one of the most beautifully designed menus I have ever seen in my life. Only the cover seemed too ordinary to me and did not reveal at all that there was something amazing inside. But there is a saying "don't judge a book by its cover" and it applies in this case. So let's take a look inside this seemingly inconspicuous menu... 😉
Menu w tej restauracji to jedno z najpiękniej zaprojektowanych menu jakie widziałam w moim życiu. Jedynie okładka wydała mi się zbyt zwyczajna i zupełnie nie zdradzająca, że wewnątrz znajdziemy coś niesamowitego. Ale jest takie powiedzenie "nie sądź książki po okładce" i w tym przypadku się sprawdza. Zatem zajrzyjcie ze mną do środka tego wydawałoby się niepozornego menu... 😉
It's rare for a menu to have a black background. Usually the background is light, white, but here a dark, contrasting background was used, which wonderfully highlighted the intense colors of the dishes, often with dark color. I always like menus with photos of the food, and these photos are just great. Good quality and visually beautiful. Thanks to this, you can easily choose a dish for yourself, even among unknown dishes that would be difficult to imagine just by the name.
Rzadko zdarza się, żeby menu miało czarne tło. Zazwyczaj tło jest jasne, białe, a tu zastosowano ciemne, kontrastujące tło, które wspaniale podkreśliło intensywne barwy potraw, często wpadających w ciemne nuty kolorystyczne. Zawsze lubię menu ze zdjęciami potraw, a te zdjęcia są po prostu znakomite. Dobrej jakości i piękne wizualnie. Dzięki temu można bez problemu wybrać potrawę dla siebie, nawet wśród nieznanych dań, które trudno by było sobie wyobrazić po samej nazwie.
I ordered pad thai, vegetarian version, with tofu. This is a famous Thai dish. When I go to such restaurants, I usually choose it because I like it and it's filling. It's hard to mess it up.
Zamówiłam pad thaia, w wersji wege, z tofu. To znane tajskie danie. Jak jestem w takich restauracjach to zazwyczaj go wybieram, bo smakuje mi i jest sycący. Trudno go zepsuć.
However, unfortunately, some people manage to ruin pad thai and this time I was surprised that unfortunately the pad hai was not good. Everything spoke in favor of this restaurant, nice interior, kind waiter, I felt good there, but unfortunately the most important thing failed. The dish felt as if it had been reheated several times, and the pad thai sauce was so sweet that when I got home I had to drink a few bitter teas to get rid of the overly sweet taste in my mouth. It's a shame because before I got my dish the waiter brought me some crab chips and they were delicious. Apparently the people working in the kitchen are the weak link of this restaurant, or they just had a bad day, but usually they cook great. Or maybe this dish just didn't work out. I don't know and I probably won't check it out again because this restaurant is located far from where I live in Warsaw, in another district that I rarely visit. The restaurant is called Bosko TuTHAI.
Aczkolwiek niestety niektórym się udaje zepsuć pad thaia i tym razem byłam zaskoczona, że niestety pad hai był niedobry. Wszystko przemawiało za tą restauracją, ładne wnętrze, miły kelner, dobrze się tam czułam, ale niestety to co najważniejsze zawiodło. Danie miałam wrażenie jakby było kilka razy odgrzewane, a sos w pad thaiu był tak przesłodzony, że po przyjściu do domu musiałam wypić kilka gorzkich herbat, żeby pozbyć się zbyt słodkiego smaku z ust. Szkoda, bo zanim dostałam moje danie kelner przyniósł mi czipsy krabowe i były smaczne. Widocznie pracujący w kuchni ludzie są słabym ogniwem tej restauracji, albo mieli po prostu gorszy dzień, a zazwyczaj gotują świetnie. Lub tylko to danie im nie wyszło. Nie wiem i raczej nie sprawdzę tego ponownie, bo ta restauracja znajduje się daleko od miejsca, gdzie mieszkam w Warszawie, w innej dzielnicy, w której rzadko bywam. Restauracja nazywa się Bosko TuTHAI.
The place looks pretty unique and considering they're thai restaurants, they offer almost authentic feel of Thailand despite being in Warsaw. It's pity the food isn't up to par.

What a pity that the food did not meet your expectations because as you describe and as you can see in the pictures, it is a very comfortable place and the dish looked very tasty.
Yes, I was disappointed about that too. Especially since all the pad thai I have eaten so far have been delicious and I expected that I would also have a positive culinary experience this time. Although this dish looks good in the photo, if you tried it, I suspect you might have a similar taste experience as me 😉
