Design Lifehack 2.0

Untitled-1 [Recovered].jpg

People who loves design would appreciate some tips and tricks to grow their creativity.
A month ago, I had published a post defining some lifehacks on designing, This this is a vast subject, I got some more to cover you all.

Youtube Channels

To begin with I want all of you to know that there is solution to almost every problem regarding technicality of software on internet. It's obvious like if you wish to learn some software or technique it could be easily done through paid classes which is great but since we are talking about design lifehacks, you all know that youtube is a wonderful platform, The people over there got your back literally in most of drastic cases.
If one is into 3D software and rendering too so, there's always one or another thing one would tremble into, be it little issues like solving a line thickness problem to learning entirely new process, there's lot more solutions than you know -

-Revit Software- Balkan Architect
-Sketchup Software-Sketchup Essential
-Rendering - Upstairs and Rendering Essential
-Graphic Designing (Ps, Ai, Id)- PiXimperfect , Surviving Architecture and Satori Graphics

If you are struck at something or maybe wants to learn something then these above mentioned channels are highly recommended. One spend hours and hours on youtube to search for the best video to teach the particular stuff one is looking for, It had happened to me a lot so, after years of searching experience and relying on youtube for so long I got these channels lined up in my subscription section. They obviously aren't paying me to promote it's actually a hack to find out these videos and complete your work or learn a specific section.

These were the very first renderings and post production pictures of a kitchen area which I learnt through Youtube, more than a year ago. The lighting is quite moody as I wanted to learn few effects so experimented a little. These are mere practices and not implemented into any project. So, I wanted to prove a point here that If you genuinely wish to learn something so just go for youtube and they may solve your technical problems.

Free Resources

If you are a designer or not these resources will help you add few of the creative pinch into your regular presentations or any other work.

The first one is IsoFlat
It is a marvellous website if you want some isometric (3D) or flat vector graphics for free to use in any poster, banner, presentation, article, conceptual sheets or even PowerPoint presentation. You can even create one regarding any subject. It's a great tool to simple customise and use high quality pictures and make your work stand out.
Downloading is super simple, just click the button and you will get a zip file, extract it to any folder of your choice or use it directly. I always get a illustrator file + jpg/png since they provide vector images. It's just amazing. There will be pricing on detailed customisation but if you need that pls do purchase their package.

If you are actually looking for things like mockups for your projects, texture or background for some article or design also the conceptual sheets, maybe some icons vectors or templates then there are three really sophisticated sites which offer wide range of free resources also the paid ones if you are tempted to use them.
Graphicpear
GraphicBurger
Uplabs
These are the three coolest sites. They offer wide variety.

3 Postcard Mockups.jpg

These are the mockups I downloaded and inserted my designs. So, these are few examples as to how one can utilise all such free resources to for work. Also that Isoflat I mentioned is best for the power point presentations and it do have really cool designs one can use for varied purposes. Also Canva and artboard.studio are wonderful too.

Learning from Watching

This is something different yet much interesting hack anyone would have ever told. If you are Architect or designer you need your creative juices flowing and that requires constant research, upgrading yourself with change in trends and learning new styles every now and then. Pinterest and other social media seems like go to thing but how interesting it would be if learning can be mixed with entertainment?
So, here are list of few NETFLIX shows which will bring lots of new learning experiences with entertainment. To be specific, I had little to no interest in typography until I watched an episode on Hoefloer and to be honest I developed a lot of interest in typography to the extend that I use varied typography in my every work and notices it so much around and learning to create one of my own typeface.
Okay , let get to the name now-

  1. Abstract
  2. Restaurants on the edge
  3. The Creative Brain
  4. The World's most extraordinary homes
  5. Minimalism

We all binge watch Netflix, be it our subscription or one of our friend's , The best hack for your creativity and inspiration is surely these series/movies. All five of them are set differently and I bet you will enjoy it.

Perhaps these lifehacks will turn out useful to all whether they belong to any working field. Hyping all the people who wants to add some creativity to their work and loves to learn new things anytime, anywhere!
