Mi participación está enfocada en una majestuosa obra ubicada en el municipio Montalbán del estado Carabobo, se trata de la catedral.
Today I join this great OCD community, in order to participate in this prestigious competition to celebrate the day of architecture.
My participation is focused on a majestic work located in the municipality of Montalban in the state of Carabobo, it is the cathedral of the city of Carabobo.
Algo de historia | Some history
La zona de Montalbán estaba poblada por grupos indígenas Jiraharas de los que se conservan algunos petroglifos. Los europeos comenzaron a asentarse en la zona desde el siglo XVI provocando así la desaparición de los indígenas originarios de esta parte del valle.
En la catedral posa la escultura de la virgen negra, así llamada por sus devotos, traída por los españoles como un símbolo de promesa en la época de la colonia.
The Montalbán area was populated by indigenous Jirahara groups of which some petroglyphs are preserved. The Europeans began to settle in the area in the 16th century, causing the disappearance of the native Indians from this part of the valley.
In the cathedral there is a sculpture of the black virgin, so called by her devotees, brought by the Spaniards as a symbol of promise during the colonial period.

Internamente posee filas de columnas con arcadas que separan sus naves y soportan el techo a dos aguas.
Its image shows the use of neoclassical elements in the organization of its spaces and facades. The main one exhibits three arched gates that communicate with its internal naves, all delimited by pilasters and the central one hierarchically arranged with a curved pediment. This central body culminates its upper edge with a gabled wall. Aligned with the aforementioned facade, and rising on both sides the bell towers with four levels and arched windows on the left, and the right with clocks, both culminating with octagonal pyramid-shaped roof. Internally it has rows of columns with arcades that separate its naves and support the gabled roof.

Sin duda alguna sus habitantes feligrenses, se han mostrado empáticos con la estructura y se han empeñado en mantener sus culturas y tradiciones religiosas, la misma está encerrada en enigmas sin descubrir.
The presbytery is covered by a simple masonry dome. There is also another small dome that protects the side chapel.

En este pequeño pueblo se ha arraigado la doctrina cristiana, es una parte esencial de la vida de los pueblerinos, bien sabemos que muchos jóvenes no son a fines a la religión, pero los adultos y ancianos si tienen el asistir a la iglesia más de una vez por semana, reconociendo a Dios como el buen Pastor y el único Digno de adoración.
No sólo es un tiempo de paz, si no de gozo y gran celebración el poder venir a una congregación de creyentes y escuchar la enseñanza de la Biblia impartida.
In this small town the Christian doctrine has taken root, it is an essential part of the life of the villagers, well we know that many young people are not at the end of religion, but adults and elders do attend church more than once a week, recognizing God as the good Shepherd and the only one worthy of worship.
It is not only a time of peace, but of joy and great celebration to be able to come to a congregation of believers and listen to the teaching of the Bible imparted.
Es la única arquitectura de interés para sus habitantes ubicada en medio de este hermoso valle, como lo es el municipio Montalbán estado Carabobo, al norte del país.

STOPGreetings @sergio3. Welcome to the Architecture+Design Community. Most religious buildings especially in your part of the world always have historical backstories with profound colonial roots. The cathedral of the city of Carabobo definitely possesses architecture of Spanish influence as shown in its exterior facade and ornamental details. Were you able to capture photos of the building's interior spaces? What are your emotional impressions of that church?

Estoy muy de acuerdo contigo, hay grandes estructuras quizás mucho mejores, esta corresponde a una muy modesta del pueblo donde vivo, y aunque no soy devoto a la iglesia catolica como religion, si soy fanatico de las estructuras.
