If not for distinguished authors like you in our beloved Architecture+Design Community, I couldn't have experienced exquisite places like these spots that I seldom hear of in my lifetime. The city of Haskovo in Bulgaria is one such built environment where we get to virtually walk with you and admire the interesting mixtures of ancient and modern architecture, the various periods before, during, and after your nation's communist influence.
Now, let's talk about this building that impressed you the most, the one with the yellow-colored facade (photo below). Any idea what the spatial functions of that landmark are and its current approximate age? Aside from being sandwiched between 2 buildings of different styles, what other profound details on it attracted you and why?
Oh, I see dear @soulsdetour. My bad, haha. 😁 I'm sorry as well for my misinterpretation, as I thought it was the yellow one since it was the most striking in your photo. Anyway, that bank building with the glass facade beside it looks quite interesting too. Its triangular plan is actually a cantilevered beam that structurally supports the numerous floor levels above it, giving the impression that it's inserted. My curiosity would be ignited as well if I was in your shoes.
As for the Turkish heritage on Haskovo, that's certainly something new to me. No wonder the city's rich culture, history, and most importantly, remarkable architecture have truly fascinated you for many years. 😊

During my time in Dubai years ago, I got acquainted with a charming Bulgarian lady who later became my good friend. It was the very first time I learned about Bulgaria.
