RE: Bolivar Avenue, a whole history

in Architecture+Designlast year

Fantastic feature @tibaire! Bolivar Avenue is undeniably an iconic landmark. Named after your country's national hero and liberator, all Venezuelans must cherish and respect this emblematic heritage. 👍😊

How's the typical daily traffic of people and vehicles in that renowned thoroughfare? Is it well-managed by technological systems? What ideas do you have in mind for its smooth operations?

Hello @storiesoferne, traffic is smooth except during rush hour or certain times of the year like December. For example when it rains it becomes a funnel when approaching the clothing market and terminal, because at that point there is a tide of people transiting that unfortunately do not respect the traffic signs and is a chaos. This is the area I don't like to walk through.

When there are political events, it is a real disaster. They close the avenue and the traffic that usually passes through there is diverted to the surrounding streets and avenues. You can imagine the chaos.

It totally lacks technological systems and I can tell you that on Friday I had to cross the avenue and just at the crossing point the traffic light was damaged. hahaha it was an odyssey to cross. Thank goodness I am used to these adventures.

My recommendation would be education. Education to the driver, education to the pedestrian, education to the public official in charge of taking care of vehicular traffic. More than a technological control, a social and moral commitment is needed.

Oh wow! That's quite an interesting narrative @tibaire! Certainly, cities around the world have their own share of traffic problems, and Venezuela is not spared of course. Since the Bolivar Avenue is a major street, it's high time to level-up their road network and traffic systems to ensure the safety of everyone. We wouldn't want freak accidents to be happening all of a sudden, right? 😊

As for you, although you find it simply fun and adventurous, kindly be extra careful when crossing the busy streets, lol. 🤣

lol hello @storiesoferne , I think I'm one of the few demure adventurers. I always wait until there are several people trying to pass and when they pass ... I run hahahaha. Thanks for your recommendation, I will keep it in mind.

Oh yes @tibaire, running is so much better in case of emergency, hahaha. 🤣 Have fun! 😊

Happy weekend!

omg today is wednesday, and i am saying you happy weekend. I think i need vacations soon! jajaaja

No worries, we can always transform every single day into a weekend. Wouldn't it be awesome? haha. 😜 Happy weekend! 😁
