ARBOREA CAFE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FOREST

GridArt_20240306_225108797.jpg

For residents of megapolitan cities like Jakarta, finding a place to relax that is shady, cool and far from polluted vehicles can be said to be a privilege. Therefore, green spots such as hitsan and city parks are a favorite choice for those who want to rest their lungs from pollution, even on a small scale.

Including me too. Recently the air has felt very dry and the sun has been very hot. I haven't had time to know the actual temperature but I'm sure it will be quite high. Apart from that, because Ramadan will soon be entering, and I will be very busy going outside, finally today I decided to go to a cafe in downtown Jakarta.

.
A cafe that is predicted to be a fresh and cool cafe in the middle of the hustle and bustle.

ARBOREA CAFE

Present as a garden cafe, Arborea Kafe immediately attracted fans. From the moment it first opened, Arbore continues to have endless customers. Having a unique and minimalist design, Arbore also makes customers feel like they are not in the center of a megapolitan city.
Overall, Arbore carries a natural theme where almost all elements are characterized by wood colors and wood materials.

From the outside, Arborea looks like it was deliberately built with a forest studio concept with a symmetrical arrangement. The boxes are deliberately placed evenly between the ground floor and the top floor, creating a unique impression on Aeborea Kafe. Visitors seem to see a large wooden box sitting in the city forest.

However, if you look from the side, it turns out visitors can see the other side which is more asymmetrical. On the other side, there are stairs to get to the top floor or rooftop.

This cafe was inaugurated by the president in 2018 to welcome athletes for the ASEAN GAMES event. Initially, the aim of building this cafe was so that the athletes who lived in the guest house would not have difficulty finding a shady place to drink coffee. Finally, until now this cafe still exists.

Located in the Ministry of Environment and Forestry complex, the name Arborea comes from the arboretum where this cafe is located.

Yes, this cafe is in the middle of the arboretum of Ir. Lukito Daryadi, M.Sc. So, the left and right of this cafe are a collection of plant species which are used for research.

CONSISTING OF THREE FLOORS

On the first floor, it is clearly used for the ordering desk. In front of the ordering table, there are benches with high legs.

On the first floor there is also an inscription confirming when this cafe opened, signed by the chairman of KOPKARHUTAN (Employee Cooperative of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry), engineer M.Awriya Ibrahim, M.Sc and the Minister of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Ir. Siti Nurbaya, M.Sc.

On the ground floor there is also an open area and smoking area, so there is a row of sets of tables and chairs next to the ordering table.

Apart from that, there are also chairs arranged in the middle of the forest in front of the cafe. If it wasn't raining, it would be really cool to sit here and enjoy the fresh air

CLOSED ROOM NO SMOKING

Connected by a wooden staircase to the second floor, there is a completely closed square room with glass. Smoking is not allowed here because it uses air conditioning
The four sides of this wall are covered with mirror glass. It turns out I was wrong in assuming that almost all the elements were wood.

This mirrored room is actually a bit contradictory to the natural theme promoted by Arbore cafe. Apart from that, in this room the air actually feels stuffy and uncomfortable. Initially, I wanted to decide to eat here, however, because I was uncomfortable I returned to the first floor and enjoyed the free air. Ha ha ha

ROOFTOP.

This iron ring staircase connects the second floor to the rooftop. Even though the rooftop is not for seating, it's just a photo spot. Visitors who want to take photos usually flock to the third floor. From here you can see the arboretum path.

While waiting for my friend to arrive, I ordered iced americano and chicken beef pastry to fill my hungry stomach.

Not long after, my friend came, and we spent the rest of the day chatting casually with my friend.
