This is my first entry in the channel.
Every once in a while as a professional photographer specialized in architecture, you receive assignments that justify a long journey and are highly gratifying. This is the case of the work I did for an editorial of the library of "Les Aigües" in Barcelona, which is the library of the Pompeu Fabra University and occupies an old building that was used as a water tank (aigües means waters in Catalan) that supplied the area of the Universal Exhibition of 1929. After many years of being disused and used as a municipal warehouse for all kinds of junk, it was completely refurbished at the beginning of this century to make room for the current library. The water tank was the roof part of the building and what now houses the library are the columns that supported the large tank filled with water. As an anecdote, in the preliminary study of the project, a certain Antoni Gaudí, who was still a student, was listed as a collaborator. This is what he looked like.

Hay veces que como fotógrafo profesional especializado en arquitectura, recibes encargos que justifican un largo viaje y son altamente gratificantes. Es el caso del trabajo que realicé para una editorial de la biblioteca de "Les Aigües" en Barcelona, que es la biblioteca de la Universidad Pompeu Fabra y ocupa un antiguo edificio que fue utilizado como depósito de agua (aigües significa aguas en catalán) que abastecía la zona de la Exposición Universal de 1929. Tras muchos años en desuso y utilizado como almacén municipal de todo tipo de trastos, fue completamente reformado a principios de este siglo para dar cabida a la actual biblioteca. El depósito de agua era la parte del techo del edificio y lo que ahora alberga la biblioteca son las columnas que soportaban el gran depósito lleno de agua. Como anécdota, en el estudio preliminar del proyecto figuraba como colaborador un tal Antoni Gaudí, que aún era estudiante. Este es su aspecto.
