Barinas, is a city full of architectural treasures that await a lot of history and days ago I had the opportunity to visit again one very well known regionally, the Bolivar Square and its surroundings.
Let's start with the Plaza Bolivar, is a large place with many trees has a statue of our liberator in the center, a curious fact is that many years ago here passed a street that divided the Plaza Bolivar, making it a two-part square, we can also find in it fountains (which today do not work), a stage and many benches to spend time alone or in company. Many years ago, during the Christmas season, gatherings were held in this place where in the corridors surrounding the square there were stalls selling food, clothes and accessories, and on the stage there were presentations of different artists.

Barinas, es una ciudad llena de tesoros arquitectónicos que aguardan mucha historia y hace días tuve la oportunidad de visitar nuevamente uno muy conocido regionalmente, la plaza Bolívar y sus alrededores.
Comencemos por la Plaza Bolívar, es un lugar grande con muchos árboles cuenta con una estatua de nuestro libertador en el centro, un dato curioso es que hace muchos años por aquí pasaba una calle que dividía la plaza Bolívar, convirtiéndola en una plaza de dos partes, también podemos encontrar en ella fuentes (que hoy en día no funcionan), un escenario y muchos bancos para pasar el tiempo en soledad o compañía. Hace muchos años, en la época decembrinas se realizaban las tertulias en este sitio en donde por los pasillos que la rodean ubicaban puestos de ventas de comidas, ropas y accesorios, y en el escenario hacian presentaciones de diferentes artistas.
Around it we can find emblematic sites such as the Cathedral of Our Lady of Pilar, the most important Catholic church in the city and has 12 columns representing the 12 apostles.
Alrededor podemos encontrar sitios emblemáticos como la Catedral de Nuestra Señora del Pilar, la iglesia católica más importante de la ciudad y cuenta con 12 columnas representando a los 12 apóstoles.
The Casa del Alba and core of the Police, known as the Casa de la Cultura where formerly was the Model Jail, one of the events of the independence era that are still present in this site is a hole in the bell tower product of the cannons fired by the federalists. One of the things I liked most about this site is the fountain with a beautiful bridge at its entrance.
La Casa del Alba y núcleo de la Policía, conocida como la Casa de la Cultura en donde antiguamente era la Cárcel Modelo, uno de los acontecimientos de la época de la independencia que aún están presentes en este sitio es un hueco en el campanario producto de los cañones disparados por los federalistas. Una de las cosas que más me gusto de este sitio, es la fuente con un hermoso puente que tiene en su entrada.
Palacio del Marqués, in colonial times was the mansion of one of the most important marquises of the city, Del Pumar, at that time they ruled and that is why the city is attributed one of its many names: Ciudad Marquesa. One of the urban legends about this site is that it had secret passages that led to other properties.
Palacio del Marqués, en la época colonial era la casona de uno de los marqueses más importantes de la ciudad, Del Pumar, en ese tiempo gobernaban ellos y es por eso que se le atribuye a la ciudad uno de sus tantos nombres: Ciudad Marquesa. Una de las leyendas urbanas que ahí sobre este sitio es contaba con pasajes secretos que desembocaban en otras de sus propiedades.
José Esteban Ruiz Guevara Theater, formerly the Capri Cinema, one of the first cinemas in the city. It also has the Guárico State School Group, the first educational institution for boys and girls, considered as one of the Municipal Historical Heritage in 2003.
Teatro José Esteban Ruiz Guevara, antiguamente el cine Capri, uno de los primeros cines en la ciudad. También cuenta con el Grupo Escolar Estado Guárico, la primera institución educativa para varones y hembras, considerada como uno de los Patrimonios Histórico Municipal en el año 2003.
Another interesting thing you will find is that the surrounding streets are paved with cobblestones, giving it an even more historical touch

How charming. The Plazas of our cities are so characteristic but so unique in their own way. I really like to see the Plaza Bolivar of other cities because it certainly is great to see the differences, with so many similarities they all have.
