Travel through the halls of the Marble Palace of St. Petersburg. Architecture of the museum's ceilings and mantel clocks

in Architecture+Design3 years ago

Today we will continue our short tour of the halls of the Marble Palace of St. Petersburg. But if last time we were talking about marble and granite interiors, today I will show you how some of the ceilings look, as well as a few words about the mantel clock displayed in the halls of the palace.

As I wrote earlier, not all the interiors of the palace look like they did in the old days, but there are still many beautiful rooms, and the ceilings are something special. Rarely where else can you find such a variety of stucco and decor.

We can only guess how much effort was spent by architects and craftsmen to make such beautiful precise stucco patterns of the ceilings.

There are not many clocks in the palace, but each of them is a real work of art. An amazing fact is also that absolutely all clocks go and show the exact time.
