Yesterday morning I decided to do a sneak position behind the hibiscus tree to take pics of the shadows and close up shots off the birds in the bird feeder. This part of the garden is a shadow hunters dream with the morning sun; great shadows cast by the trees, hibiscus and the bird bath. I loved the perfect round shape shadow of the bird bath on the fence.
The one and only bird who dared to venture anywhere near me was cheeky and very cocky pee wee. The doves and lorikeets kept well away. The Pee Wee didn't care.
The Australian Pee Wee is native to the Northern Territory. It is a protected species. The male has a black face while the female has a white face. Pee Wee
He is casting a cute little shadow on the seed.
Here is a frontal view of the Pee Wee with some shadows over him.
Being black and white they do not stand out as much as it would on a dove or lorikeet.
The last pic shows a little more shadow on the wooden pole. The newly planted marigolds and alyssums are just an added touch.
The first photo is my entry in the SMASh 189 (@gems.and.cookies)
