PERFECT LIGHTING***Reflection Hunters Contest ~ Round 65

ON A COOL AND CLOUDY DAY

IMG_0253.JPG

The last few weeks have been a challenge for my hubby @thebigsweed, he had a total knee replacement surgery just 14 days ago. We both knew going in that this surgery would not be an easy recovery. In all honesty, it had been brutal. But we are seeing a tiny light at the end of the tunnel. Much of the swelling has receded and his bandages were removed today. His Physical therapist is awesome, so knowledgeable and motivating. It's just going to take time.

It's difficult to watch your best friend suffer, but there is nothing I wouldn't do to make his recovery easier or quicker. I know my attitude and positive encouragement is so important but some days it can be a challenge for myself also. So each day in late afternoon while the hubby rests, I take my camera and walk around the homestead. I listen to the birds chirp, breathe in the fresh air and commune with nature.

It's been cloudy and cool here in the mountains of New York for the last few days but the lighting for reflections has been just right. I loved that I was able to capture the clouds as well as the tall trees in the reflection in our pond.

Here's hoping the weather warms up so we can use the pond as a therapy to make my guy strong once again.💪 🤞 👌 💪

Beautiful reflections in your lovely pond! I'm so glad to hear that you are taking care of yourself and hope @thebigsweed recovers quickly.

Thanks so much, he's getting better day by day, but he's getting antsy to get out into the gardens. But I know how time flies when you're having fun, NOT.
I thought the reflections in the water that day were beautiful, it was a stress reliver to just sit and watch.

Thank you for participating in the contest again, dear @farm-mom 🤗! I wish @thebigsweed to become better soon ❤️, and that your way to the light at the end of the tunnel will not be very long !

Hi @olgavita, thanks for your well wishes, appreciate it.
I also want to say you are doing an excellent job with this contest, thanks for all your hard work.

Beautiful, what can I say)

Well, thank you very much!

Oh, I love the new gify.

Oh man I must not be paying close enough attention? I didn’t know the big guy went under the knife!

All I know is that almost 100% of people I know who have had that procedure were thrilled with the results and wish they had it done earlier.

He has too many years on that awesome homestead with the family so here’s to a speedy recovery!!

Hello Mr. Zeke, here's the nutshell. 10 years ago, when he had his first hip replaced, he was told both knees should be replaced, but he felt he could work through it, which he did, he had too much to do to stop to get it done. Little did we know his other hip had to be replaced first. So, in November he had the other hip done and scheduled to have both knees done at the same time. biff, I knew this was impossible, he was too old to have them both done at the same time, his doctor told him so. Plus, we now live in god's country, not close to the care we desire. Now each move is calculated by what is best for him to re-coup and get back to the life he has surely earned. Each day gets better, but not so sure he will jump into getting the other knee done, it's been brutal on him. I am a strong woman, but to see the pain level he has endured has made me afraid of the next one.
My advice to any younger guys that may have been athletes like my hubby was, listen to your bodies and do not wait to have joints replaced. Much better when you are younger than 69.

I have the impresion he is one tough old fucker and is going to make it through with your help. The worst of it is now and each day of improvement is a blessing!

I have been lucky so far with my joints but have to lean on wisdom more and more as the years go by. Torn muscles and a blown shoulder is not good for martial arts practitioners over 50 that is for sure. Especially ones with knee twisting leg locks. Have to be careful for sure.

Over 40 is a very conservative statement in our cases!

You have it correct, my man is one tough mother f er, but I love him for that. He will rise again, I just hope I can be as tough a m-fer as he is, hehehe
Hugs my friend

It's funny how some knee surgeries go smoothly and the pain isn't bad, and others, not so much. My brother's had both knees done. The first was a breeze comparatively, the second was okish, more pain, longer healing. But he's glad he got them done finally, as he has a nearly normal life now.

Age has everything to do with how well the patient fairs. my hubby waited too long to have these surgeries done. He was told 10 years ago his knees were in need of replacement, he was an athlete all his life and a big man at that, he pounded the crap out of his joints. I had told him many times to take care of it but he always had too much to do.
God bless him, he is aces in my book, but I so wish he had listened to his doctors and me a while ago. I know he will bull through this, he is strong and still very healthy, I just hope I can handle it.
