THE BIG DAY~~~WHERE IT HAPPENED *** Shadow Hunters/SMASh Contest Round 190

October 2, 2021

Nestled in the Pocono mountains of Pennsylvania sits a country inn called The Stroudsmoor. This is where vows would be declared and promises made. An outdoor ceremony was planned. The gazebo would be tastefully decorated for the bride and groom to pledge their love for one another.

The bride and her father would walk together along a cobbled stone path bathed in shadows and sunshine. Beautiful music would accompany their stroll together as the guests would stand to see this beautiful bride. Love would fill the air.

The guests would enjoy the view of the mountains in the background as the father of the bride kissed his daughter's cheek, then clasp together the hands of the bride and groom. .

One hundred and eighty guests were expected to be in attendance to witness the joining of these two very special people. Family and friends would journey from near and far to celebrate this union. The ceremony would be heartfelt and emotional, simple but meaningful. Tears of joy would ebb and flow as vows were proclaimed and promises made.

It would be the perfect day. A mild 72 degrees, blue skies with lovely white puffy clouds that shadowed the mountains.

Friends and family would fill the white chairs, placed just so, leaving the shadow of their presence.

After the "I DO", the celebration would begin inside the inn, where everyone would relax and enjoy the party that would surely flow with champagne and well wishes.

Cocktail hour would flow with delicious appetizers, as guests enjoy the piano player's serenade in this beautifully appointed room.

The inn also provided a "bridal suite" just off the main room that was a cozy place for the bride and her maids to "touch up" whenever they felt the need.

The Stroudsmoor Inn would prove to be the perfect place for a very special Wedding Day.

When you think of all of the cloudy, rainy days we've had the past few months who would've ever expected such a perfect day.
Perfect in so many ways @farm-mom, or should I call you Marilyn.

In your dreams buddy.😁💘
I should have never told you what he said.💋

You found delightful shadows before the guests arrived! What a perfect wedding day and a beautiful venue! Thanks for entering the Shadow Contest again! ❤️💕❤️

Good morning @melinda010100, thank you for that nice comment.
It really was a perfect day, I actually took those pictures the day before. We had to drop off all the center pieces, the bridesmaid bouquets, signs, cards for table settings, just all kinds of decorations. ALL of which were made by my daughter. She is so creative and talented. She worked on it for over a year. The bouquets, for example, were made of wood flowers she found on line. My wristlet was so pretty and she knew I would be wearing a pearl necklace and earrings so mine had a pearl bracelet. The men's boutonnieres were also wooden flowers. Crazy right. Who would have ever thought? She wanted something we could save. She even had her dad cut logs from our farm to place at the entrance to place these large flower arrangements, that she made, of course. My daughter knows how to pay attention to detail .
Sorry, I'm rambling, but I can't help myself, it was just so wonderful.
Have fantastic day, and yes, while I was taking those pictures, I was #shadowhunting. hehe

Those are nice shadows you did and the wedding story very fitting for those shadows. Success.

Hello @gertu, nice to see you.
We were so lucky that day, the weather was absolutely perfect for an outdoor ceremony. I am still awash with happiness of that special day.

Well thank you very much. Everyone needs some encouragement now and again.

It's a beautiful place to be married!

Good morning dear friend. That inn was so beautiful, rustic but elegant. The weather could not have been more perfect, I would like to think my mom whispered in God's ear on that day, her spirit was with me that special day.

I never got back to you about your anniversary. 47 years wow, we just celebrated our 46th in August, we both were so young, but we must have done something right.
Your farm looks so awesome, the house is a sight to see, just beautiful.
Good for you girl.
Hope you are well, have a great day!
Hugs!!

Such a lovely photo! Such love!

The place is looking really fantastic, I love these pillars! cheers!

Good afternoon Ed, thanks for stopping by, I know how busy you are.
My daughter's wedding day could not have been more perfect. I am still bathing in joy almost 3 weeks later.
The Inn was rustic yet beautifully appointed, it was a perfect setting.

I see you and the kids are still busy harvesting, we are just about done here. Bedding down the gardens for the winter that is just around the corner. It was a good year for us, our freezers are full once again.
We have already rented a house in Florida for the worst of winter months here. A little of winter is fine, but February can be brutality cold and snowy here, so we just check out in late January and head south until March. We head home just in time to tap the sugar maple trees for our syrup.
Hope you are are happy and well.
Hugs!!

Thanks for this lovely pic!

Moving to Florida for the colder days, brilliant idea I can't lie...We are about to slow down for a while, and maybe work on a raise bed project (nothing as fancy as yours of course 😁), we also had another chicken on the its way out, and tending to one of our sick dog!
We aren't even in the midst of winter, and it's so cold already... I might move to Florid too 😁

Good day Ed. Yeah, we decided after we retired to have a plan for at least the month of February . It's really cold and snowy here during that month especially, we have to wear cleats on our boots to get outside so we don't fall and break our asses. That's scary when you get to be our age, we don't bounce as well as we used to. Florida is the perfect place for us, we can drive there, although we take two days to get there. But the hubby does NOT enjoy flying at all. It's the being in control that's his thing.
I can deal with some winter, enjoy it actually, but living in the mountains, we see snow almost everyday here and I miss the sunshine. So we shut down the house and head for "the sunshine state" of Florida.
In fact, it was last year while there that @dandays introduced us to you, nice move Mr. Dan, thanks.

Have a beautiful afternoon.

But the hubby does NOT enjoy flying at all. It's the being in control that's his thing.

So you're saying he enjoys nothing.

hahahaha, you are a character 💙 I think you are finally getting it.

I love how shadows appear so perfectly right that our eyes can't help but admire their beauty. The sun is a great artist and your wedding setting full of shadows was wonderful. I am also glad that all the guests were free to attend. A family wedding we had a month ago half the guests could not attend due to lockdown. But, despite this the weekend celebrations were fabulous.
Happy day.

Good morning Angie, oh the day was awesome. Yes, we sweated a covid flare up here, but fortunately the numbers were down and the vast majority of our guests were vaccinated . We had 2 family weddings cancelled last year, a niece and a nephew both got married, but had only immediate family there to witness it. Both had receptions this past summer, and IT was sweet.

It's funny, I must have #shadowhunters on the brain, because I was hunting them, even while celebrating my sweet daughter's wedding. Geesh! Go figure. hehe
Have a lovely day.

What a beautiful place for your daughter's wedding. Everything is perfect even the shadows, Robin.💕

Hi Jo, so glad you dropped by.
Yes, it was the perfect day. I am still floating some 3 weeks later. I am so happy for her, she really did find a perfect match, at least I think so. @thebigsweed and I just adore him, he's a wonderful young man.
Hope things are going well for you.
Have a blessed day my friend.
