SMASh 192 (Show Me A Shadow) Contest - Shadows And Street Art

Welcome back Shadow Hunters! It's SMAShing time again. The Show Me A Shadow Contest, hosted by @melinda010100, is on its 192nd Round. For those still not in the know, read up on the contest post here. Hopefully, you can join in the fun with your friends and be like us, Shadow Hunters.

Lately I've been posting about Street Art around my city. There aren't really that much actually except for the sporadic paint sprays of gang names and indecipherable smudges on roll up doors of commercial establishments (a type of door made of small horizontal interlocking metal slats that are guided in a track to allow them to roll up and down). However, I discovered two places in the city that have street paintings or murals and have been fascinated by its quality and realistic presentation.

But I am not going to talk to you about Street Art. Instead, I will be showing some photos of these street paintings that I took but at the same time capturing shadows in the process. This is what I mean.

In the photo above I did not realize I also captured the shadow of the wall and cyclone fence of the establishment behind me.

In the photo below, I also caught the shadow of my car on the foreground when I drove beside to the wall to get a close up of the mural.

In the next photo below, taken a few months ago, I intentionally pictured my shadow walking by another wall with street mural. I wasn't hunting street art then so my focus was on the shadow. Good thing the mural was also captured.

And finally, this painting of an old tribesman positioned between two electric posts. I was actually fascinated by the fact that the mural was fitted exactly between the two posts by the artist.

But upon viewing the photo above for the umpteenth time, I realized that there was a peculiar and special shadow captured as well. Do you see it? Here's a closer look at the photo.

A shadow of a fire hydrant! You see it now? And shadows of a coil of steel cables which are used to anchor the electrical posts to the ground. What a discovery!

For this SMASh 192 the picture below is my entry. I do hope you agree with my choice. I just love the fact that the shadow just popped up without warning and made me shake my head and say, "That's the thrill of Shadow Hunting!!"
