My wife and I went for a long walk around a system of 3 reservoirs yesterday in the hills above Edinburgh. The weather was fairly still so I was trying to catch a few reflections. Only one came out good, as the rest had some ripples, but hey ho !
The one above was the best, and thats the one I'm entering. I love how the trees at the back have come over in the reflection - looks great.
I did try a number of other shots with not as much success.
The above was a panorma taken at the higher reservoir which was quite low on water. I was hoping this would have come out better, but to be fair I was only using my android phone (for all of the pics).
With the pic above, I just loved the purple on the hill at the back which is due to the heather growing there - but as said, there was a bit of ripple when trying to take the shot. I was standing down on the reservoir floor there - normally the water would be above my head, but its been quite dry here in Scotland, and we normally get rain the whole time. This is the lowest I've ever seen this reservoir.
The pic above was taken at the lower reservoir which was being kept topped up. It was more exposed so there was more ripple in the water, but the gantry did come out a little - not as well as I would have liked.
And one last shot, again of the lower reservoir. These reservoirs provide the majority of the water needed for the city of Edinburgh ! Again, the reflection wasnt as clear as I would have hoped.
