Estaba una noche dominguera parado en la puerta de la casa de mis madrinas de confirmación @flordi y @petronila cuando se pronto sentí como si estuviese siendo parte de alguna película de misterio y suspenso: cuatro figuras se deslizaban en completo silencio por el centro de la calle.

Sus sombras fantasmales y alargadas acompañaban su imagen, y era el único "coro" perceptible ya que ni sonidos de pasos se oían.

En extraña combinación, dos caballeros con vestuario actual acompañaban a dos damas cuya vestimenta era de otra época, como si fuesen los escoltas de dos recién llegadas de otros tiempos traídas al nuestro a través de quién sabe qué portal misterioso o con una máquina del tiempo de súper avanzada tecnología.

Pasaron a mi lado sin reparar en mi presencia mientras yo no me atrevía ni a respirar tratando de pasar desapercibido. La siguiente calle, totalmente a oscuras, se tragó la aparición en forma silenciosa y progresiva mientras yo sentía cómo mi corazón recuperaba su ritmo normal de latir y se disipaba poco a poco el frío que recorría de arriba a abajo mi espina dorsal.

Entré y lo comenté con mis madrinas, temeroso de que no me creyeran o se rieran de mi reacción ante tan misteriosa aparición

Entre risas me recordaron que esa noche culminaba la celebración del tradicional "Domingo de antaño", cierre de las festividades por un nuevo aniversario de nuestro pueblo y de seguro había visto pasar a dos candidatas al cetro "Reina del ayer" y tal vez hasta a la joven electa como reina este año.

I was standing one Sunday night at the door of the house of my confirmation godmothers @flordi and @petronila when it suddenly felt like I was being part of some mystery and suspense movie: four figures were sliding in complete silence down the center of the street.

Their ghostly and elongated shadows accompanied their image, and it was the only perceptible "choir" since not even the sounds of footsteps could be heard.

In a strange combination, two gentlemen with current clothing accompanied two ladies whose clothing was from another era, as if they were the escorts of two newcomers from other times brought to ours through who knows what mysterious portal or with a time machine of super advanced technology.

They passed by me without noticing my presence while I didn't even dare to breathe trying to go unnoticed. The next street, totally dark, swallowed the apparition silently and progressively while I felt my heart recover its normal beating rhythm and the cold that ran up and down my spine gradually dissipated.

I went in and mentioned it to my godmothers, afraid that they would not believe me or laugh at my reaction to such a mysterious appearance.

Laughing, they reminded me: that night was the culmination of the celebration of the traditional "Sunday of yesteryears", the closing of the festivities for a new anniversary of our town, and I had surely seen two candidates for the "Queen of Yesterday" scepter and perhaps even the young woman elected as queen this year.

My native language is Spanish, so I wrote this story in Spanish first and then translated it into English with Google's Free Translator
