So, it happened that I went to deliver a frame to my neighbor, and on getting there I found out she's down while illness, I guess she needs rest for all of the stress of trying to meet up, it's not easy surviving in Nigeria. But then, I saw her son(King), he was so full of energy, he kept disturbing and going forth and back, he wouldn't allow his mum rest. So, I offered to take him on a walk to his mum's shop to pick up some things for her. I didn't even plan to take pictures, but on getting outside and he stretched out his hands for me to hold him, I saw the shadows 😁😁😁, and it caught my attention..Immediately, I took out my phone and took some pictures.
Moving forward I got to a pole and decided to take a shot of it's shadows, but King rushed over, so we took another there together.
We moved on, and I kept seeing various shadows, those of the fences, fences with barb wires and all, and I took a shot or two as well.
It was when I got to know about the shadow hunters community that I started paying good attention to shadows. I really do not really pay attention to them before.
So, as we kept on walking I noticed he kept bending down every now and then, I even thought he was checking for something but nothing was there, I checked to see if he was injured, or maybe he's tired, but he wasn't.
Each time he bends and I called out to him, he would just rise up with a laugh and run forward 😁😁😁. That small boy is something, he was actually bending down to check for small ants so as not to match them. That was so touching.
I wasn't even paying attention to his shadows because I thought something was wrong with him, but after he kept bending and laughing I later noticed his shadows with the way he lifts and bend his hands. And that prompted me to take some more pictures.
When we got to his mum's shop, shadows from the burglary in front of the door kept calling out to me to please take some pictures 🫣.
Well I had to take some. And that's it for me. Beyond just taking pictures of the shadows, the little kid help me see beyond by reminding me to take things slow, and to notice the little things I've been overlooking events single day.
