The sun in the southern hemisphere has brought the onset of winter in my region, and I am loving this season. The original lanterns that my previous generations were using, particularly in rural areas, are no longer in use, but I have got this LED light in the shape of a lantern.

I will share a few shadow shots today, and this will be my participation in this week's shadow hunter contest.
The sun might have weakened in terms of latitude, but the midday sun rays are a delight for me, and as a shadow hunter, it is equally a good opportunity.

Solar is the future. Renewable energy is the path forward to sustainability. An LED lantern of this design is a utility tool of the night. It exists to push back darkness, to create its own small sphere of artificial day when the real one has fled. Yet when I captured shadow at noon, it reproduced a stark black ideogram of its shape, crisp, precise, and sharp. The outer lines were so profound to cast their shape.

I always think of all the small man-made things or trivial things that do not draw attention in everyday life, yet when we go out to hunt the shadow to produce artistry skills, every trivial thing rises into prominence, and they become the master of our environment. Light has been abandoned in many places, yet LED and renewable energy have created hope for the rest. Let's embrace this energy transition. Flashlights in caves, headlamps on night trails, etc., even the adventure needs those to negotiate the unforeseen and unexplored.

The shadow fades with the absence of light, but the memory remains etched forever. The ephemeral presence talks about the brief interaction between light and darkness.
To be continued......
Thank you.

Is the symbol painted on the walk called a Rangoli?
Yes, that is a local festival called "Manabasa Gurubar"-- Manabasa Gurubara is a festival celebrated in Odisha, India, on each Thursday of the Margashirsha month (November-December), in honor of Goddess Lakshmi. It involves cleaning and decorating the home with "Jhoti-Chita.
That Rangoli thing "jhoti-chita", that is usually done with a thin rice flour batter by a housewife in Odisha.
I love it! What a beautiful tradition!
Thank you so much.
