The decision was made, Giovanna would move to the city. If somebody had asked her a few years ago she would never have thought it, but now she had changed. She wanted to study and go to college, she wanted to have everything that her parents and her brother had given up. They considered her a selfish with strange crickets in her head, as if studying were still a possibility for a few, but she had no doubts and without any fear she left for the skyscrapers.

La decisione era presa, Giovanna si sarebbe trasferita in città. Se glielo avessero chiesto qualche anno prima non lo avrebbe mai pensato, ma ora era cambiata. Voleva studiare e frequentare l'università, voleva avere tutto quello a cui i suoi genitori e suo fratello avevano rinunciato. Loro la consideravano un'egoista con strani grilli per la testa, come se studiare fosse ancora una possibilità per pochi, ma lei non aveva dubbi e senza alcuna paura partì verso i grattacieli.
