Camilla lived in a small studio on the ground floor. She had worked hard to gain her independence and go to live alone. The house was very small but she had decorated it tastefully and it seemed larger. The only thing that bothered her were the bars on the windows, although she understood that they were necessary to prevent anyone from entering from the street. Many times, looking out, she wondered how much those bars were a physical defense or a mental cage.

Camilla abitava in un piccolo monolocale a piano terra. Si era impegnata molto per conquistare la sua indipendenza e andare a vivere da sola. La casa era piccolissima ma lei l'aveva arredata con gusto e sembrava più grande. L'unica cosa che le dava fastidio erano le sbarre alle finestre, anche se capiva che erano necessarie per impedire a chiunque di entrare dalla strada. Molte volte guardando fuori si chiedeva quanto quelle sbarre fossero una difesa fisica o una gabbia mentale.
